We came here for a quick lunch during our Key West trip.
Atmosphere: DJ’s Clam Shack is literally a little shack on Duval street. You walk right up to the window to have your order taken. They have covered seating the front and back of the shack.
Restrooms: They had one single use bathroom. I didn’t use it, but I noticed they had one.
Service: The person at the counter was very friendly. The servers were nice too. All the dining spots were kept nice and clean.
Food: The food is made fresh to order. I got the ‘Clam Chowder’ which was delicious. It came with two packs of crackers which added a lovely crunch. I happened to find a large bay leaf in my serving, thankfully I didn’t eat it. My husband had their ‘Shrimp Po’ Boy’ and LOVED IT. He wanted to try their lobster roll but we both agreed the price was kind of steep, so he tried the shrimp instead. The sandwich was made fresh. He said the shrimp had the perfect seasonings and wasn’t heavy. He loved the pickled red onions, might be his new obsession. All in all we loved the food! We’ll definitely come back next time we’re in Key West.
This is a great place to grab some local, fresh food. If you’re a lover of Food Network and Guy Fieri, this is a spot he visited which is cool to...

Read moreI've heard raving reviews for DJ's Clam Shack's lobster roll. I had to come try it for myself.
Arriving, we immediately regretted choosing to dine here. The place was tiny and a complete hotbox. The kitchen encircles the dine in area. I'm not sure about the back seating because we took the front seat to look out onto the street but it was miserably hot. Props to the workers. Who were very kind. The guy taking orders up front did a great job striking up conversation with every patron that came in.
I wanted a little bit of everything! They have a great menu. My party of 3 tried the clam chowder soup, the lobster roll, the fried clam strips, the fried shrimp and the chicken tenders. What I didn't like - fries came with everything. We had too many fries amongst the 3 of us. Hate for it to go to waste like that. They should create sides of these dishes without fries. We loved everything. The lobster roll was probably not the best lobster roll I've ever had though. It was good. And the meat was deliciously fresh. But it was lacking a wow factor. I enjoyed the clam strips more actually. Surprisingly my boyfriend also loved their chicken tenders here. All in all,...
