Grain & Berry Cafe — Restaurant in Key West

"I recently visited this establishment and decided to try their pitaya bowl. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a terrible decision. Within a few hours of consuming it, I started feeling extremely nauseous. Over the past 24 hours, I have thrown up at least 5 times and haven't been able to keep any food down. This has been an incredibly distressing experience.

I was really looking forward to enjoying a healthy and refreshing meal, but instead, I ended up with severe food poisoning. The symptoms hit me hard and fast, causing immense discomfort and disrupting my entire day. It's been incredibly frustrating and disappointing, and I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

The fact that I haven't been able to eat anything for 24 hours is alarming. I was hoping for a nutritious boost, but instead, I got the exact opposite. This has made me wary of the quality and safety standards of this place. Food safety should be a top priority, and clearly, it wasn't in this case.

To make matters worse, I couldn't sleep through the night due to the constant nausea and frequent trips to the bathroom. I also had diarrhea, which added to the overall misery. The combination of these symptoms has made this one of the worst food-related experiences I've ever had.

This experience has left me feeling weak and dehydrated. I had to take time off work and cancel plans, which has been incredibly inconvenient. The physical toll this has taken on my body is significant, and I am still recovering from the ordeal.

On top of all this, I wasted $14 on a meal that made me sick. It's infuriating to spend money on something that ends up causing so much harm. I strongly advise others to be cautious when considering eating here. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. The aftermath of eating their pitaya bowl has been a health ordeal I wouldn't wish on anyone. I will definitely not be returning, and I hope this review serves as a warning to others. This place is without doubt, the BEST cafe I’ve ever been to! And something to remember, where I come from, we eat at lots of cafes so I’ve got plenty of places to compare it with, so when I say the BEST- I mean the best.Trust me.

So I ordered the good karma bowl with açai in it and a caprese with mozzarella, avocado and tomato and I loved everything. The smoothie bowl was absolutely delicious with the perfect texture to it (it literally tasted like sorbet but better) and they did not skinny with the toppings! The caprese was just as good. The flavors just worked so well together that I’m still dreaming about it.

The only thing that I could complain about is the price, because this isn’t the cheapest cafe I’ve been to alright. But! When thinking about all the organic and healthy ingredients they use, and the fact that their food is so sooo amazing, I understand why their cafe is on the pricey side.

To sum things up a bit, I love this place. I got what I ordered fast, the food was incredible, the cafe was very clean and had a modern but very cozy feeling to it and if you ever travel to Key West, this is where you should eat 24/7! You...

Horrible smoothie, even worse customer service. So I ordered the purple rain and the specialty toast. Paid, tipped the workers and received my food. Everything was fine until I tasted my smoothie.. All I could taste was bananas and none of the other 4 fruits that they claimed was in the smoothie. But the real issue was, the bananas were rotten and the smoothie wasn't blended well. Leaving me to chew on... you guessed it, rotten banana. So naturally I told the staff about the smoothie. But the response I got caught me wayyyy off guard. This lady looked me dead in my face and said " what do you want me to do about it.." Now I could have crashed out but I didn't. So I asked her to remkae it without bananas.. she said, and I quote " that's not how it works here. You ordered this you keep it. Or you pay for another one." Then I said ok no problem just give me a refund. She again said no. But I just stood there and explained that the way she's treating me is not how a customer should be treated.
