By far one of the best places we have tried while vacationing in OBX. Only wish we had tried this sooner as I would have ordered from here a few times! I say this with over 15 years in the restaurant game... this place has their sh*t together! Daily prep and quality product go such a long way. Menu isn't to huge but varied enough to leave you unsure of what to try first because it all sounds amazing! After reading the reviews we had to try the waffles fries to start. Hands down best I've had. Fresh, crispy, salty, and perfect portion (basket size). For entrées we orders Mahi Mahi (fried) fish tacos, BBQ chicken quesadilla, bacon cheeseburger. Tacoes were out of this world. Packed with flavor and crispy. Slaw and sauce were well balanced. Rice and beans with fresh pico was very good and seasoned perfectly to get that home style taste. Nothing had the taste or look as if it just went from package to table as a lot of places have unfortunately started doing. Again the daily prep and attention to quality is apparent here. The kiddo always orders a burger no matter where we go and she said it was the best she has had. The other half order the quesadilla and said it was flavorful, chicken was tender, ingredients balanced. Service was top notch. Atmosphere was very chill. Very clean. Art on the walls are available for purchase from local artists. Overall very efficient system and tight run ship with relaxed vibe. This should be the first and last place you go to while in OBX. I hear peak season can be crazy with lines and gets very busy but I will tell you this place is WELL WORTH the wait! Do not sleep on this place! Will be back next year and this will be the first place we go for sure!

This is without a doubt in my list of personal favorite, and best restaurants I have ever been to. The food is freaking awesome. I cannot wait to revisit, and it is definitely worth a trip in itself! Our waitress the first visit was so helpful and fun, and she really made us excited for our food, and feel so at home and comfortable - it was really awesome. And the service both visits was so fast! Your food will not take more than ten minutes to get to you. The menu is one of those menus where you will end up spending the most time trying to decide what you want, because you want everything. Every item sounds incredible. And it’s all so simple and straightforward - everything is awesome, and you can tell they have their system down. Honestly the best thing for me was their waffle fries! Which feels lame to say, but they were unbelievably crispy and so well salted. And with avocado ranch, even better! I loved them. But it’d be totally unfair to not acknowledge everything else. It was all great. Not to mention, they have great prices. The first time I came, it was my girlfriend and I, and it was so good we had to tell my family and bring them all back with us! And I’ll definitely be telling anyone else I can. I can’t wait to come back!

Food Dudes Kitchen is hands down my favorite lunch spot in OBX! It’s a hidden gem located in a strip mall near the beach—easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, but absolutely worth finding. The menu offers a refreshing break from the usual fried and bar food, with fresh ingredients and tons of flavor. The interior is small, but service is quick, and they do offer take-out. Just a heads up—if the kitchen is busy, you may need to place your order in person as the phone lines are often tied up. I’ve visited multiple times on every trip, always for lunch, and the food never disappoints. The blackened salmon wrap is a standout—perfectly balanced with vinaigrette and feta cheese. Plus, the side of fresh tortilla chips and pico is a nice touch. The jerk chicken wrap is another favorite, with a good kick from the mango salsa that complements the chicken perfectly. The meals are filling but not heavy, leaving you satisfied without feeling weighed down. Though I haven’t tried dinner entrees, they are available. It’s a great spot for families too, with a fun kids’ menu called “Little Dudes” and beer for the adults at the bar. Overall, a must-visit spot for fresh, flavorful food in OBX!

My husband and I are from Ohio, here celebrating our 10 year anniversary. We have been to a lot of restaurants over the years but this by far is the absolute WORST! I do NOT recommend wasting your time or money on a place like this. Walking in you are NOT welcomed or even made to feel you should have walked through the door. Storefront is all glass windows so no doubt they seen us. They have a menu up outside so we stood there for a while and looked it over, we already knew what we wanted and ready to order, We unfortunately arrived at 7:20 pm after riding all day on the motorcycle We were starving, so we went in and ended up walking up to the bar top after not being acknowledged and we were unsure what to do, I asked if we could place a order to go. The waitress said no. I then said can we eat here then? She then said no because supposedly people were waiting and they are not taking anymore people!?? Several empty tables and the bar top empty, they close at 8:00pm it was only 7:25 at that point why couldn't we place a order to go? Hardly no one in the restaurant and NO one outside "waiting " just makes no sense to turn away to go customers when they are not even closed til 8:00pm we wouldn't have minded to wait outside even with the invisible people for a to go order😉 Just wanted some food before heading back to the hotel for the evening, this just happened to be very close but they don't accept customers and they are very rude. Highly recommend going somewhere else 👍 It wasn't even a weekend day just through the week and they didn't close for another 35 minutes. I understand why all the other restaurants are packed out and this one is very very empty. RUDE PEOPLE AND THEY DO NOT LIKE CUSTOMERS WHO WANT TO EAT...

Food Dudes Kitchen was on my list of restaurants I wanted to try. I haven’t been to OBX in nearly 20 years. The reviews here are phenomenal and the food sounds delicious. I tried calling in a pick up order around 7pm on a Sunday. I called multiple times and it was always busy figuring they disconnected the phones. We drove 20 minutes anyway to place an order in person and they had a sign on their door stating they don’t take phone orders when they are busy. That is very understandable as it’s a small restaurant and I’m guessing staffing is low due to Covid however it would’ve been nice to know this prior to driving all the way there. Regardless I went inside to see if I could place a take out order and if so how long the wait was. I walked right up the the counter with a guy standing two feet away from me at the cash register. I stood there for an easy two minutes and he never once acknowledged me even though I was right in front of him. He just used the register for two minutes then walked away. I figure if you don’t have the common courtesy to acknowledge your customer you don’t deserve my business. I was really disappointed as the food sounded good. After I left I was curious as to why people post 1 or 2 star ratings. Regardless of why customers gave these ratings the owner responds with very rude remarks showing no attempts to apologize to upset customers. To me the food is only half of a restaurant. Customer service is the other half. This unfortunately is why I am giving a 2 star. I am not writing this review asking for anything instead I’m writing it in hopes that management sees this and can improve on their...
