This is probably one of the most expensive desserts I have ever had in the history of fast food/fast casual restaurants...and here's why.
Being a Las Vegas resident, I don't have the luxury of enjoying Culver's in my city - I have a few other frozen custard places, but nothing that screams, "Culver's." Prior to moving to Las Vegas, I used to reside in the North/Midwest part of the country, and during that period, I had constant accessibility to Culver's outstanding frozen custards. Since the move, my family and I have identified three Culver's restaurants that's within reasonable driving distance from our residence and so far, we've visited two out of the three - this Kingman location was the third and last of the three. On the evening of 22 Jun 2024, we had the urge to partake in some Culver's; however, since it was already pretty late I wasn't sure if I wanted to drive the almost 2-hour distance. Well, you obviously know what I decided because here I am posting a review of this Culver's location.
We hopped in the truck and headed towards Kingman, mainly because this restaurant closed at 11:00 pm, versus 10:00 pm at the other two locations. When we arrived, we had 42 minutes to spare and opted to go through the drive-thru. When I rolled down the window, I couldn't help but realize how nice the weather was in this city, so we ended up getting our desserts and circling back around to enjoy it in their parking lot. Speaking of realizations, I also noticed how friendly the entire staff was - this is uncommon in Las Vegas fast food businesses during the late evening hours...so it comes to a shocking yet, pleasant surprise. I didn't catch the name of one employee, but the female who was working the drive-thru intercom when we visited (22 Jun 2024/10:20 pm), was remarkably friendly, helpful, cordial, and most important, professional. I can't say that much about fast food/fast casual drive-thru workers these days, but this one takes home the gold medal. I wish I would've asked for the name but I'm sure (hoping) that the business can easily identify who was working the intercom during this timeframe.
As for the desserts...it was scrumptious as normal, and as advertised - we ended up getting a couple 2-scoop sundaes and a concrete mixer. I know some may frown upon driving this distance for just dessert, but hey, it was a Saturday evening and it's good to do spur-of-the-moment activities with the family once in a while. The prices are always reasonable and matches the quality/quantity of the goods and service you're receiving. I always respect this franchise for their continued support to the active servicemembers, to include its Veterans - thank you for that! The dining area, including their bathrooms were nice and clean...yes, we had to run in to use their facilities before the long drive back home. Overall, we enjoyed this Culver's location and their employees - I highly recommend this restaurant...
Read moreI was a McDonald's person my whole life. They turned their back on poor people, and by the time they started offering reasonable stuff again, my system was no longer tolerant of their "food". Anyways thay caused me to branch out since I am spending more anyways and found this Culver's maybe 8 or 9 years ago, and it is solidly my favorite fast food by far now. Some people find it salty, which I like but sometimes when its hot out, I dial it back by ordering the butterburgers "unseasoned" (also I get Ketchup and mustard on them). They are still amazingly good this way. The cheese curds are so much better than the greasy often next to flavorless mozzarella sticks you get at other places and don't need the marinara offered at all, which funnily enough is better than most places as well. All this at comparable or lower prices to in n out and jack in the box, while better service than Jack, and way lower wait time than InO. Recently while trying to move away from this godforsaken town, my car broke down and I went to the hotel 6 on Andy until it was repaired. I walked 40 mins both ways just to get Culver's, they are that good. The only reason I knocked down a star on atmosphere is something others may like- they have a cornhole setup right in the front next to where you wait for your order in the drive through. I myself would rather not be parked next to a bunch of boisterous teens (only occasionally happens) while waiting. But is a non-issue for the most part. Perhaps some see as a perk for others, like...
Read moreMy experience has always been great. However , I came here tonight and it's eleven minutes till they're about to close and I asked for a piece of fish . I was told that they cannot make that, But yet I was asked what could they make fresh for me? I said I would like Shrimp, i was told they cannot make that for me. So I ordered a burger hold the onions. The burger came with cheddar cheese. I asked if they vould add swiss and Keep the cheddar . . Young lady said okay. I ordered a side of fries for my friend and she got a double bacon cheeseburger. After receiving our food were driving back i ate a few fries. You could tell that they were not hot and fresh. Now I'm eating my burger at the house and there's a long hair in it.How disgusting. ... I was told when I got to the window that they stopped making fish at ten forty meaning they closed their fryer early . Also there was only swiss on my burger no cheddar. I am in the food business and cannot believe this happened tonight. Not to mention the attitude that I got when I got to the window was unbelievable. Things have been good and i've been there many , many times this is my first and only complaint about this place. I may go back but not any time soon. If you're open till eleven you should serve everything until 11 . Oh, by the way, and if you order ice cream there you will get put in your place. That it's called custard.Oh don't ever...
