I lived in Kingman for years and ate here many times. It's been awhile but I came down for a visit and took my mom out for breakfast. First off, it's not entirely the employees fault but restaurant seemed to be short staffed . No visible manager anywhere, just 2 servers, busting their butts to serve the entire restaurant and bus their tables, greet guests, cash out people's checks , ect So had to wait on be seated, because there wasn't anyone to help, all busy. Not a biggie, we wait patiently. Our server, was nice enough. No chit chat, all business. Not a problem. She brings drinks in a timely fashion. Ok. Looking around, I see people looking around for their server, for whatever they're in need of, more coffee, their checks, ect. At this point, I wanted to put on an apron and start helping. We get our food, in the normal amount of time, surprisingly. But the food is as disappointing as the situation. The hash browns were not evenly browned, but as if they had been stirred and scooped onto the plate. Bits of hash browns, seemed raw and some burnt, a curious combination. The eggs were fine, cooked exactly as ordered, over medium. The chicken fried steak was....disappointing I expect Dennys corporate to buy their chicken fried steaks frozen, take it out of a box, fry it and cover it with whatever commercial gravy from a bag they approved. Instead this particular item had no real taste. The gravy was sad, no discernible flavor. It could have been wallpaper paste, who knows. My mom ordered the 55 omelet, which she ate without any complaints. Although I could tell, she had the same thoughts about the hash browns, as hers looked the same as mine. Her pancakes, were the only bright spot. Fluffy and warm, again, from a box i suspect, but decent nonetheless. We did spend more time in the diner than I wanted, but only because we were trying to kill some time and it was easier to sit and wait there. But in the time we waited, I watched the 2 servers, do the work of 4 people. My heart goes out to them. Finally, as we were leaving, I did see, for 1 minute, someone who resembled a manager type, clearing tables, albeit half heartedly. Would i return? Probably, but only because in spite of my last visit, I've had many better experiences than today's experience at...
Read moreAbsolutely horrifying, to say the least! I'm praying that Yelp offers the option to give 0 stars sooner than later, because this service was by far the worst food I've ever had in my 21 years of living.
The ONLY good I can possibly give is to say that ONE of the hostesses was very kind and sweet...that's it.
Our waitress got our order wrong, and we waited about 20 minutes for a disaster of a meal. We asked for a orange juice and fruit bowl, but didn't receive either. To start, the pancakes were over-cooked and raw at the same time. There were spots that were extremely wet and soggy, and then parts that were crunchy and tasteless. They were sweating, like when you grab something out of the microwave...hmm. So dry and the pancakes didn't event come with syrup, and being that I was desperate for any food, I ate half of the plate. Biggest mistake, and I wish I could U-Turn my choice to even step foot in this Denny's.
I asked for scrambled eggs, I received over cooked eggs that tasted horrendous, that came with a side of hash browns, bacon and sausage. I didn't even ask for the meat, being that I don't eat that kind of meat, or even meat that isn't halal. I understand she didn't know this, but the reason I bring it up, is because the meat was touching my eggs, and everything on that plate looked like it was picked out of one of the dumpsters in the back.
But wait, it gets worse. My brother ordered a veggie omelet, asked for no mushrooms...there were mushrooms, and he could barely digest or even chew what was in that omelet. So many ingredients inside were raw or drenched with oil. We were both too stunned to speak.
The bread was dipped in butter and was very stale. The bathroom was far from clean, yet they had a sign that said Safety and Cleanliness is Denny's #1 priority. That's not what I saw.
Prison food isn't this horrible, and I wouldn't wish this type of meal upon anyone that walked foot on this Earth. I would rather starve than eat here again, and that's saying a...
Read moreI'm not giving a 3 star review based on the food or customer service experience. I am rather giving a 3 star due to the amount of stress put on the host and hostess. During the night there is usually only one hostess/host. We had a group of 11 people that went in for a late dinner. Following up, there was another group of 11 and two groups of 3 waiting at the door. While the hostess was trying to get the table situation figured out, she was also doing the servers job and taking care of the cash drawer at the same time. When it was time for our group of 11 to be seated, the other group of 11 had claimed they were there first, and proceeded to yell at the hostess. The hostess then had to rush around the restaurant multiple times taking care of the tables. There were so many situations where a manager or a server could have stepped in and helped the hostess with her job a little. The hostess rushed to get drinks for the table seated next to us, she was under so much pressure she ended up spilling a drink. Our table had not received our food or a milkshake. The hostess had rushed over and brought us our milkshake. She was nearly on the verge of tears for the rest of the night as if everything was her fault. It was unbelievable for any of the employees including the manager allow so much stress on the hostess. I hope to see dennys improve in the near future and to be aware for events happening certain days. A hostess/host should not have to be alone during the night and day. It shouldn't matter how busy or slow it is throughout the day. Give the hostess time to breathe. I could also hear from other tables, that the hostess was put under way too much unnecessary and unavoidable...
