Today I give them 4 stars for listening and leaning in to new ways to lead with integrity, kindness and inclusivity. Will be back in a month to see where it goes and update at that time.
Staff were kind and helpful. Baked goods include one vegan berry bar baked in house and a gluten free option. Be great to see organic berries used .
Interior warm and calming
The bad news is non dairy milk- so all of you macros intolerant, milk allergic, compassionate choosing plant milk, vegan etc you will be charged a whopping $1.25 This is cost prohibitive for many especially students.
Be a leader. Please explore having your prices be more equal - if you need to charge a bit more on regular coffees, cow milk, baked goods, etc. just spread it out so you don't penalize those choosing whether for medical, health, the environment or out of compassion for animals... non dairy milks.
Informing my datapoints include having worked on a family farm on the Olympic Peninsula during college.
This price is exceedingly high compared to nearby coffee places

Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn the Seattle area there are no shortage of excellent coffee shops to get your fix of high quality specialty coffee made with care and attention to detail. Even still, Five Stones manages to stand out for exceptionally friendly service, tasty food and of course a strong offering of quality specialty coffees. While some cafes are worth going to for the excellence of their in-house roasters, Five Stones stands out for tastefully curated and rotating selection of guest roasters alongside their mainstay of Olympia Coffee Roasters. I'm glad to see the care they put into selecting new roasters as it makes it exciting to come in and try something new.
Overall the atmosphere is welcoming and it's a reliable space to come in and get something done, or to just chill, read a book and socialize with other guests or the staff, who've always been more than friendly.
Five Stones cafes are quickly becoming the go-to cafes on the Eastside, and the Kirkland location is perhaps the best on offer due to the decent spaciousness and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFantastic new local gem here in downtown Kirkland! Both my visits have made me want to come back to try more! Their regular and peppermint Chai Lattes are so flavorful and creamy, even with almond milk. The vegan oat bar (contains tree nuts) is super filling and tasty as well. On weekends, they feature a tender buttermilk biscuit and my friend had their ham and cheddar croissant which also seemed really delicious! Their mugs, glasses, and sleek black cutlery for enjoying your treats in the store are lovely and pleasant to use as you take your time to enjoy the beautiful space. Jacob and his team have done an incredible job of welcoming the community into this great spot, already local mainstays in their Redmond and Bellevue locations. I'm so thankful for their generosity in the fight against trafficking as they give profits to Atlas Free during their grand opening. Highly...
