This was place was okay⊠Definitely have had better. I donât think this would be my go-to but if someone else wanted to go, I wouldnât be opposed. Raving review, huh? LOL
Parking: Tiny parking lot but you can also part at the library/Kirkland public parking Pet friendly: No Family friendly: Yes
FOOD: Green onion Pancake $3.95: 1 Stars â Not sure if there house made.. I assume it is just because of how doughy it is. It had a lot of flour test so I didnât really enjoy this. Jajang Beef Pancake $9.95: 3 Stars - The pancake that was the wrapped, it was a lot better than the appetizer green onion pancake. The beef needed a lot more flavor and to be sliced thinner. Garlic String Beans $9.95: 3 Stars â This was good but okay at the same time if that makes sense. It had good flavor but Iâve had better at other dumpling/noodle places. House Sweet Chili Fried Chicken $9.95: 4 Stars â The two fried chicken was definitely the best of all the things I ordered. The chicken still had good crisp to it even though there was the wet chili on top. Seasoned Fried Chicken $9.95: 5 Stars â This was so yummy! The dry seasoning had just the right kick and flavor. I kept coming back to it and normally Iâd say that I devoured the whole dish but this was something my husband order and he didnât really want to share ALL of the chicken đ Bulgogi Beef Dumpling $8.95: 3 Stars â They were tasty beef dumpling but I wouldnât really say they were bulgogi. They were slightly sweet which was probably the only hint I got that it was marinaded differently. I honestly thought I was eating the regular beef dumpling until I saw the Bulgogi dumpling down the table lol.
DRINK: Qin Dynasty $14.00 â Good taste but I think it would have been better if it was chilled more. Sometimes a more chilled drink makes it taste better.
MENU/RESTAURANT: Restaurant is really cute and had a modern Asian dĂ©cor. The way they did the layout of table didnât make it seem very tight even though they crammed in a lot of seating for the size of the restaurant. I would like to say they have the traditional Asian fountain that I didnât know I missed since moving up here until I went to a restaurant that had one LOL
Menu is pretty standard Taiwanese food⊠Nothing crazy that makes them stand out from other Taiwanese restaurants.
SERVICE: The service is pretty hands off as you order everything on a menu sheet (kind of like most dimsum places now). The only time we really ever interacted with the staff was when they would bring food out. The biggest issue I had was they would never mention what was being brought out and we had a HUGE group. If someone remembered to mention it, they were so quiet that we had no idea what they...
Read moreTL;DR: generous protein proportions. Black Sesame Tiramisu is good but on the pricey side.
Parking: street side or very small shared lot.
Atmosphere: feels like a dumpling house like Dough Zone. Semi loud music playing but conversation across the table is still audible.
Service: wait to be seated, you will be watered, you will be given a picture menu and a print out menu to mark you order on, food brought to you, boxes for leftovers available upon request, check brought to you.
Menu: prepare to eat with your eyes because there is a photo for pretty much everything on the menu! There are no descriptions, just item names.
Salt and Pepper Squid: Large snappy cuts of squid fried and then tossed in salt and pepper with onions and bell pepper. The squid is a tiny bit on the thick side for me. I personally love Salt and Pepper Squid (the absolute best is from Thien Hong in Portland Oregon -- this dish even made the news there at one point) and the squid here was pretty good, slightly on the salty side but good. Must be eaten with a neutral palate cleanser like noodles or rice or the salt will be a little overwhelming.
Braised Beef Rice Noodle Soup: I love the generous proportion of beef! There was enough beef to last every bite of the meal. The noodles were a wonderful al dente texture and the bean sprouts added a nice subtle crunch. The braised beef is in small chunks and soft but slightly chewy -- great in my opinion!
Black Sesame Tiramisu: Lightly sweetened and not too overpowering. It comes in a small plastic container with the cake on the bottom and a fluffy sesame cream on top. The cake was a tad on the dry side (not dipped like typical tiramisu). Overall a nice light dessert to end a meal with. I was a bit disappointed on the size though for the price. It was a rather small slice for my glutinous sweet tooth, haha.
Kid Friendliness: If you have a stroller and they aren't too busy, they will accommodate you and seat you in a spot where you can park the stroller next...
Read moreMy family and I were extremely disappointed with every dish we ordered. After returning 1 of our main dishes we struggled through the remaining items. Nothing came out as it looked on the menu. Best thing we had was white rice. Crispy chicken (2nd best of all 8 items)- was under seasoned and over cooked Kale salad -was so bitter and over dressed it was slimy. Mushroom dumplings- outside was way to thick with small compact inside so when you took a bite it fell apart Pork and onion dumplings- ok flavor but again outside to thick and inside to small so fell apart Sweet and salty cucumber- not enough flavor so basically it was soggy cucumber with slight vinegar flavor. 1/2 peeking duck- skin was extremely soggy and inside was mutilated, wraps were over cooked and extremely hard to separate, cucumber has a weird metal flavor. Spring onions were almost to hard to bite through. Wok fried pepper beef- wife loves peper beef and was super excited about this dish... beef came out grey and steamed vs wok fried vegetables were over cooked and flavorless Garlic green beans- had no garlic and no flavor almost like the forgot to add them Lychee drink- very watered down Passion fruit drink- very watered down.
Not to mention everything is WAY over prices for portion size
Now we get to staff. Ok service But they wore the same black gloves for everything they did WITHOUT changing them (serving food, cleaning tables, sweeping floor, wiping nose)
After talking to a guy who seemed like a manager.. he stated they are newly opened and still trying to figure it out.
10/10 will not go here again and do not...
