I was born & raised outside of Philadelphia so I know a good cheesesteak. The ones at Jersey Mike's up the street are okay. The meat here is good. Too much cheese -- overwhelming. I will say that I also tried the Everett location before and this location is consistent with there so if you like that you'll probably like here. But if you are used to quality authentic cheesesteaks from back East or even in the Bay Area, you will likely be mostly disappointed by this place based mostly on their roll type.

There is way too little food for value. The rolls are extremely soft like they are store-bought rolls that kind that sit on the shelf for 3 weeks before you buy them. Also the roll is cut very oddly where you can not even start eating meat until you had 3 bites of just bread.

Cheese fries were good but too small for the price. However, for takeout they packaged them in a way that no moisture could escape so I opened the containers so that they'd still be good after our 3 minute drive. They should have packaging that lets the moisture out without you having to...

EDIT 2: Been going here for a year now and a year later, this place is STILL AMAZING and consistent. So good. You should definitely grab food, head down to the water and enjoy an amazing meal.

EDIT: I DID go back the next day and the wait was only 5 minutes. They were pretty slammed the first day and today was good. Tried the Philly fries, in addition to another sandwich and both were AMAZING. The cheese and bread they use on the cheese steak really makes the sandwich. I'll definitely be back and hope this place does well.

I'm going back tomorrow!

That being said, they're soft open, so be patient. They are hustling in there but it still took 14 min for one sandwich.

The atmosphere is okay and they don't serve alcohol, but it's worth the wait.

Grab a sandwich to go, walk down to the water, and have one of the best Philly cheese sandwiches you've ever had.

See...

If you’re looking for an authentic Philly cheese steak experience, look no further than Philly Ya Belly in Kirkland! The sandwich is truly authentic to the Philadelphia style, with bread that’s perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The meat is tender and flavorful, bursting with taste at each bite. The melted cheese blends beautifully with the meat, showcasing the essence of a genuine Philly cheesesteak.

Philly Ya Belly in Kirkland delivered a satisfying dinner experience with food that really stood out in quality and taste. The service was excellent, especially the cashier who was friendly and efficient throughout. One thing to note is the pay-before-you-eat system, which can feel a bit awkward, especially when asked to tip before receiving any service. But thankfully, the actual service didn’t disappoint. The interior could use a refresh, as it felt somewhat outdated, and the bathroom reflected the same. Street parking is available but can be a bit of a hassle depending on the time of day. On the plus side, the restaurant seems to take food safety seriously, which is always reassuring. Overall, it’s a casual spot with solid food and kind service that makes up for the older environment.
