Cold, Bare, and Uninviting — We Walked Right Out

We were excited to try Sushi Bowls today, but unfortunately, we didn’t even make it to ordering.

We walked in and were immediately hit with how empty and lifeless the space felt. Not a single piece of art on the walls, no music, no TV, no atmosphere—just blank white walls and silence. My son actually asked me if we had walked into a commercial office space by mistake.

There was nothing about the environment that felt warm, welcoming, or even finished. It didn’t feel like a place meant for people to sit, enjoy food, or spend time.

We stood there for a moment, felt completely out of place, and quietly turned around and left. First impressions matter—and sadly, this one missed the mark completely.

I got a reply to my review. I wished Google made it easier to reply. My response to reply6.26.2025

Thank you for the reply. While I can appreciate a clean aesthetic, there’s a big difference between minimalism and feeling like you’ve walked into a waiting room with chicken. Design aside, warmth isn’t about decoration — it’s about energy, service, and human conection and care. Trying to run a place at a minimal cost is one thing ,pretending it’s for the sake of minimalism , is absurd. I walked in , I asked where the actual restaurant is , lady looked at me with deer on the headlight look not being able to birth a word for 10 seconds. The restaurant space felt sterile, and so did the atmosphere. It looked like Will Smith walking into MIB elevator room for the first time , zero life . Quality food deserves more than a hollow setting.

Appreciate the response, but maybe consider that hospitality isn’t just about what’s on the plate, but the...

Over-the-top sushi quality and mastery with excellent service and cleanness. The chef is very much skilled and shows many years of experience. Highly recommend! The prices are very affordable for their soft opening right now.

What I liked the most is that the dish sticks to the basics. Rice is perfectly cooked, not mushy nor undercooked, and rightly vinegared and salted. It is really hard to find sushi restaurants with this quality of rice. It looks simple but is hard to achieve, in my opinion.

The fish slices are thick and fresh. Generous portions served. Creativity and taste balance in rolls. I will definitely come back, try different rolls, and update.

Cozy and family-friendly vibe. Modern but warm interior.

Update: visited again yesterday. Very fresh nigiri and sashimi pieces served. Tried four different rolls so far, and their Shrimp Tempura Deluxe is my favorite (forgot to take a picture)!

Update: visited last week. The sushi set is updated and is now serving fresh tuna. Asked the chef and it is fresh tuna (ahi) from Hawaii. I have never tasted such fresh nigiri here in Pacific Northwest....

I ordered the chirashi bowl and was absolutely blown away - not just by the quality of the food, but by the level of care and attention from the chef and staff. The sashimi cuts were outstanding - fresh, thick, and buttery, clearly handled with pride. The bowl came with miso soup, and without us saying a word, the chef personally checked in and replaced it with a hotter one after noticing it wasn’t up to their service standard.

That thoughtfulness speaks volumes. You can feel the passion and dedication in every detail here. Truly one of the most memorable sushi experiences I’ve had in...

Ordering sushi to-go can be hit or miss, but this place absolutely nailed it. From the moment I opened the neatly packed box, I could tell they paid close attention to presentation, with each roll carefully arranged and garnished. The fish was impressively fresh, even after the short drive home, with vibrant cuts of tuna, salmon, and yellowtail that tasted as if they’d just been sliced. The rice was perfectly seasoned and maintained. The spicy tuna roll had just the right amount of heat. They included soy sauce packets and chopsticks without me having to ask, a small but appreciated detail.
