I attended the class a couple of years ago. I went in with an open mindset, ready to learn something new. I was a very shy person, and I didnât feel very comfortable moving around, and I didnât have much experience. But instead of being patient with me, the instructor kept pointing me out and embarrassing me in front of the whole class.
For someone who was trying to expand themselves and do something they had never done before, she kept picking on me. Throughout that one-hour class, she pointed me out at least 10â15 times. Maybe sheâs worked at Microsoft or has some management experience, but she clearly does not know how to deal with people.
The way she made me feel left me so underconfident that I could never bring myself to join her classâor any other classâafter that. When youâre trying to teach something, youâre not only responsible for the content youâre teaching. You might be very good at what you know, but if you donât know how to treat people, youâre not really that great at what you do. Being a good teacher also means knowing how to create a supportive environment.
So yeah, I just wanted to clarify this: donât use your authority to bring someone down if youâre not capable of lifting them up. And just to be clearâI wasnât attending your class for free. I paid for it. I didnât pay to be hassled...
Read moreYoga for Everyone actually means Yoga for everyone at Solar You. I was reluctant to go back in the studio after being out of practice and gaining weight during the pandemic. As a nurse, the pandemic took it's toll on my mental and physical health and I was looking for ways that I could begin to heal the trauma. I took the online class first to feel it out before being brave enough to go in studio. The fact that this studio offers the online option is so helpful for everyone who wants to do yoga from literally anywhere. I decided to start with the new client 1 month unlimited option as I just wasn't sure how this was going to go. What I quickly learned is that everyone is kind, inclusive, and there to guide your practice at any stage of your journey. It's easy to be intimidated by taking the first step, but I have to admit, I'm hooked. In just a few weeks of consistent practice with a combination of in-studio and online classes, I'm amazed at how I can already see my body getting stronger, my confidence returning, and my nervous system starting to calm and reclaim its space. The teachers are stellar, every one of them! So far there isn't a class that I have not enjoyed and and have always left feeling a sense of accomplishment. If you're thinking about it and reading this review, this is the...
Read moreI did yoga on and off for about 10 years, but i didn't have any basics knowledge about postures alignment. I would normally just drop in to the class of random levels with 15 or more students. For sure, I got some benefits even from this chaotic experience. However, when I took the first three lessons with Irina I realized that I just lost 10 years in doing yoga in a wrong way. Irina's explanation, assistance, her desire to share her love to yoga and her knowledge made a mirricle to my perception of yoga. After her classes I can say I fell in LOVE with yoga, I understood my own way to get depth and progress. I learned more from Irina's 12 lessons of Yoga Basics program than in past 10 years. We had students with different experiences, physical abilities and restrictions in our group, but Irina challenged every one in class so each of them got their own progress that works for their current level. I felt very welcomed, supported and seen by Irina and loved her assistance. I had to drive from Green Lake to Redmond 3-4 times a week during the program but it was worth that effort! This class is must have for each who want to be conscious yoga practitioner seeking for...
