How arrogant can a business owner get that they don’t seem to bother when they provide bad service? We are huge Thai food lovers and had a birthday and graduation to celebrate tonight. We had a reservation for another Thai place, but someone told us about Soi today and we saw they had openings so switched to come here and try it. It was a bit of a drive but we didn’t mind. They knew we were coming since they had a table with a reserved sign. The place was pretty empty except for 2 tables. We were sat down, waited for about 10min for a waiter to come and were told that they had an event of 30+ people upstairs and food would take 45-60min. Our other option was to leave. Why did they take our reservation? It was a mistake, the owner apologized that she didn’t intend to take it. Did she call/ text and tell us not to drive all the way? No. The table had a reserved sign. Did she offer compensation for next time? No. Did she offer appetizers on the house or drinks until the food can come? No. When we got very upset that we would not find another place to eat last minute she just said that’s the situation and there is nothing she can do. The table next to us came after but got served food - it was her mom and some guests and for them they prepared the food in advance. We ended up “celebrating” at Shake Shack for dinner. The owner didn’t seem to care we would not be able to celebrate. We came back from Thailand a few months ago, Thailand has impeccable service culture, this place seemed to...
Read moreSoi is so amazing with such a great atmosphere. When you first walk in, there is a wall filled with flowers, it is definitely worth the photo for the gram. (For privacy, I will not post a photo, you just gotta trust me) once you step through the door you will be greeting by the most cheerful hostess, her name is Meow. She presents very high energy and makes the experience much more playful and enjoyable. She will provide recommendations and warn us about how hot the calamari is, and yes worth every single bite!
Honestly the entire staff was so adorable, everyone was helpful and very speedy in providing us with great service.
We ordered the pad see ew and the Thai basil fried rice. It was VERY well done and delicious. I never thought I would like basil as fried rice but WOW every bite was so good. Our choice of protein is chicken and they did a good job implementing that to the dish. It was not dried out like most other places and the pad sew ew was PERFECT texture. 10/10 recommend these dishes.
We mainly came her for the cocktails Of all the ones we got, the “dancing queen” is the best although I highly recommend trying more than one drink. I forgot the name, I think called “lady guava” was my next favorite. Both are super sweet, but be careful because you will 100% want more.
This is a small, family AND locally owned and operated business. Please give them a visit to see for yourself because it was an amazing Thai...
Read moreWe had vegetarian panang curry and pad see ew with tofu and spring rolls and basic cocktails that were very weak. There was very few vegetables in either entree which is always a little disappointing and tofu was overly fried imo, but otherwise good versions of standard American thai dishes. Curry was flavorful and the better dish. The waitress gave bad service. Friendly, but she completely ignored us in favor of a large table. We got an appetizer and she dropped it off and ran off without asking for our order. We had to get up to find her to put in our order, and she didnt ask our spice level so it ended up not spicy at all. We had to flag down the very nice bartender multiple times to get drinks, and then to go containers before we even got our food because at this point we waited 45 minutes after ordering for the entrees to be served ( by kitchen staff not the waitress) and had time only for a few bites then had to pack it up and go. Had to flag the waitress as she walked by for the check 1.5 hours after arriving with barely having had time to eat. At that point she asked how everything was and was friendly but no acknowledgement of how long we waited or apology for ignoring us. They also seemed to prioritize to-go orders, which kept coming out of the kitchen over diners. Maybe management can better train or organize their staff team. It was sunday and only a few tables and that one big table and many...
