IHOP — Restaurant in La Quinta

I just wanted to give a very big shout out to Monica at this location for her amazing customer service and suggest she is rewarded for it. A couple of weeks ago my order was made wrong, and unfortunately I needed to call the restaurant back to let them know of this mistake. Monica, who also took my order, answered the phone and was willing to hear my concerns. After speaking to me, Monica immediately followed up with the cook and confirmed that my order was made wrong. After apologizing on behalf of the restaurant and the chef, she took my name and number down and told me she would be more than happy to compensate on my next order. Now comes to today where I called to place my same order again and Monica recognized my voice without having to bring up my name a greeted me with kindess. After taking my order she let me know I was going to be taken care of and that my order was going to be made correct this time for sure. When I made it to the restaurant to pick up my order monica greeted me with smiles and the most warmest welcome. She confirmed to me that she triple checked my order to make sure it was correct and that she put as many condiments in my bag for me. She apologized again for the mistake last time but reassured me that this time everything was perfect, and everything was. Not many establishments these days dont seem to care much about the customer experience and it shows, but not this location and its servers. Thank you so much again monica for your assistance and care. I will definitely be spreading great words about this establishment. We usually go to the location on Jackson in Indio, but we were in the area of this location so we stopped in. The service was OK - nothing special but not bad. I was disappointed in the quality of the food and the errors in the food we received. My husband ordered a burger with fries and a side salad and what he got was just a burger and salad. When I mentioned it to our server, she replied "That's OK, I won't charge you for the salad." The charge for the salad wasn't the point, but since it took a while to get our order, we decided to just go with it. When I ordered a breakfast, I ordered it with no hashbrowns but requested fruit as a sub, which I do regularly at our usual location with no problem. This time, the server says "There's a $5 added charge for the fruit." I clarified that I just wanted to substitute the hashbrowns and get fruit instead and she said "Yeah, I have to charge you $5 for that". I was blown away! First because I've never had an addition charge for the fruit and secondly because she offered no alternative. When we got the food, the pancakes were really stingy with the chocolate and peanut butter topping, leaving most of the cakes dry and tasteless, and nothing like the picture of the special on the menu. I love IHOP, but this last visit was a disaster. I ordered the simple pancake combo. I like my eggs over easy. Now I'm not a gourmet cook so I'm not sure how to cook them. But I hate when they bring me over-easy eggs burnt around the edge of the egg. I asked my waitress to please inform the cook about my request. I also asked her to bring me a glass of milk with my pancakes. So naturally I was very surprised when my eggs arrived as if I had asked for extra burnt eggs. I immediately sent them back, and meanwhile i started on my pancakes. No milk! No milk!!! My waitress finally returned and the eggs were still burnt. So I sent them back again. I finished my pancakes and still no milk. The waitress brought the eggs out again and they were still burnt. I just told her to leave them because I was tired of sending them back and forth. This incident gets even better, my lady friends hashbrowns were not fully cooked. The place is very clean but I think they need to find a Cook that listens to the waitresses...
