We visited for our first time earlier in the week. This is a very nice fresh-clean store, and easy location near Costco. Great layout and visibility to all of the fresh products.

The only thing we bought was the Wild Sockeye "salmon Candy" smoked salmon. I have to say it was far better than we could have ever expected here in the desert. Tasted like a dry smoke with a very light exterior oil. The smoke was reminiscent of my families somewhat rustic west coast recipe we grew up enjoying, that has not been made if probably 35 years since my grandfather passed.

Having grown up by the water where we caught our own fresh fish, I was worried we would not be able to find quality seafood in the desert, when we moved here. Fortunately, a friend told us about Haines Packing in La Quinta. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Phyllis, who was not only kind, but also VERY knowledgeable about the seafood she was selling. Hands down the most amazing establishment to grace the La Quinta area. From the experience in the store to the variety of seafood options, this place is a real gem and so are the people working there. Purchased Dungeness crab and sockeye salmon. Both were well packaged well and looked great. All I had to do was steam the crab for 8-ish minutes and thaw and cook the salmon. Easy peasy delicious dinner.
