Cafe X2O — Restaurant in La Verne

Enjoyed my salmon dish but I am very dissatisfied with the customer service our group of 16 received today. We were told that they do not take reservations for large groups of people unless we all order off the family menu so we showed up at 11am with no reservations. They explained that we can only all sit together if we order off the family menu otherwise we can all sit separately and order off the regular menu. They ended up letting us all sit together and explained to us that in order to order off the family menu we had to do it in groups of fours. Four of us ended up ordering from the regular menu. We came here for our managers birthday. I asked if they could sing her happy birthday and the guy said yeah sure maybe I can bring out a cheesecake? I'm like ok cool sounds good. The guy goes and asks his manager and comes back to me and says his manager said they can sing happy birthday but you have to purchase the desert. I said no thanks. It's not the point. The point is that we stood outside for over 20 minutes waiting for them to make seating arrangements for us you would think they would do something nice for us like give my boss a free cheesecake. Definitely won't be back.

I did not like this place for 3 main reasons; the food was not authentic Mediterranean, rice served wasn't basmati, pita bread was bad, service was terrible and stunk like hookah even inside the dinning area. My wife ordered filet mignon medium rare and it was prepared too burned, see photo, even looks black, ground beef was also too cooked, we ordered grilled veggies, two of the green peppers were not cooked through, once we received our food the waitress asked how everything was and we mentioned the issues but she said she would tell the cook. Once we got ready to go, we asked for take out boxes and also the check, she finally acknowledge the bad food we got served and again said she was going to tell the manager-owner, after a few minutes we waited and no one will come to talk to us or give us the check, so we called who we assumed was in charge, the guy saw the burned food we had and said we should of mentioned right away but we had waited for too long and now he couldn't do anything so we had to pay in full, I told him we didn't care for a freebie, we just wanted him to know the food was not done right and the service was bad...
