Husband and me were in today around noon. It took awhile to get our drinks, but that's okay. While we were waiting on our food we overheard from our neighboring table that their hash browns were bad, toast missing, and so on. We also saw the manager and a server apologizing and talking to a couple older ladies sitting close to us. We thought, oh boy, that'll be interesting. Our food came out (husband ordered grad slam with white toast and a stack of pancakes, I had an omelet with wheat toast) and my husband's toast was missing, while mine was just burned. Both our hash browns were inedible, because they were undercooked, yet burned at the same time. Super crunchy and just a big no. After a little bit a server came and asked if everything is good, to which I answered, no, our hash browns are awful, and the toast is burned. He looked at the toast and asked me if I won't eat it, to which I replied, no, I won't eat that. He asked if I want another toast instead and if we want the hash browns replaced, which we denied, because we saw what the "replacement" was for the neighboring table (going from undercooked hash browns to just burned). We just wanted to get out of there at this point. No one bothered that my husband's toast was completely missing, but oh well. We got the check and went to the register. I assume it was the manager who was behind the checkout (older guy, wore a more dressy shirt) and I asked him if you guys still give military discount? His answer was "Who? You?" ..... I'm sorry, but even if he meant it as a joke, it's not funny. Just because I'm an older woman doesn't mean I'm not part of the military (both, husband and me are). Especially after such bad food - no, thank you. I gave two stars, because I appreciate that a server asked if we want a replacement. I know it's on us that we denied it. But seeing what the other customers got as replacement, we just didn't want that hassle. We love the location in Lakewood, to which we usually go since it's close to JBLM, but since we were in Olympia we thought we'd try it here. Won't be...
Read moreThe guy behind the counter appeared to be high on something was moving very fast, clenching his teeth, knocking things over and was very disorganized with who's order was who's. The portion sizes were not even close to normal. Definitely not worth $14 per plate. We spoke to Dara the manager. She had major attitude while listening to my boyfriend tell her the problem. She argued with him and told us that she had been making these dishes with the same portion sizes for years. My boyfriend said there's no way he's paying for food that won't even fill up a child. The manager stated she could have their cook remake it but it would still be the same size. People at the counter eating were shaking their heads in disgust with the way my boyfriend we as being treated.. We finally got them to remake the dish i ordered. The food tasted burnt and absolutely disgusting to where I couldn't even eat it and it went to waste. When it came to my boyfriend's dish he got pancakes with bananas on it and in the picture it looks amazing and had plenty of bananas.. The plate we got had four banana slices on top of the pancakes. He asked about it and why it was so different from the picture and the guy behind the counter responded with that was my bad I was in a hurry but had no interest in fixing it. I also ordered a strawberry milkshake that was in a small to-go coffee cup. It tasted nothing like a strawberry milkshake and was very runny. I was very disappointed with this whole visit and will never again visit this Denny's. I would rather wait an hour for my boyfriend to get home from work with the food. The next closest Denny's to me is in Centralia or in Tacoma and he picks it up on his way home when we order from there. And it's not like this happened during the day no this happened in the middle of the night when there wasn't very many people there. So there was no excuse for all this...
Read moreAfter spending the evening in Urgent Care. We decided since it was already after 9 pm we'd stop in and have some dinner. There was a few other customers but the restaurant wasn't super busy. We we're seated quickly and the waiter took our order promptly. Being very tired we both talked about how good the service was so far and out came our meals. This surprise both of us because we are used to making the order and reading a full newspaper before it comes out kind of surprised. However, we were happy to have it so quickly, now we like to order breakfast for dinner....ya ya ya were one of those people. We made it simple, nothing extra, no substitute,.....in fact we ordered the same thing. Right after we got the food our server said he was taking his break and somebody would watch over us, that was fine. And of course everything seemed fine up untill I ate into my pancakes I don't know how he cooked them but the stack was raw pancake batter in the middle of the pancakes. She cut hers open and they were the same way.....like a cream filling, well that was the end of my dinner....then it took some time to get the manager to acknowledge we wanted her to come over to us even though we called out to her for approximately fifteen minutes. Now it was just a simple fix....way back when we cut them open but now...the manager flag a waitress to come over to us when we informed her kindly that we wanted the manager....so end result....she came over apologized for not coming over and of course she was apologetic for the raw food and offered to remake it which was what we wanted to begin with however now we wanted to go. So she was so kind and boxed it up for us and when we went to pay she actually took one of our dinners off the bill which we were pleasantly surprised....so with everything all and all we will...
