Big Daddy Bagels — Restaurant in Lafayette

DO NOT order online. Very disappointing experience. I tried to call to put in a take out order and the phone had a busy signal for 10 minutes so I went onto their website to try for the first time to order online. It said oh your order will be ready in 15 minutes I showed up on time I checked in at the front desk. I said hey this is my first time ordering online how does it work. He when it’s done I’ll put it on the table out there. As I’m standing there I watch six more people come in and make their orders and get their food before I get mine. I go up and check on it and then she says oh it’s right here as I see them all standing there doing nothing sweeping casually doing things and I didn’t get my order for almost 30 minutes. No apology and no respect for people who order ahead because we have work. If you’re going to have a system of the business it should be effective there was no reason for that to happen when I’m standing there checked in when I arrived. my order just sitting behind counter for who really knows how long. I come to this bagel shop quite often to grab a bite before school or during lunch. I’ve noticed time and time again that the atmosphere there is severely lacking. Some of the staff members seem to be kind and hospitable. Others do not. I finally asked the name of one of the less than satisfactory employees. Taylor seems to always be having a bad day and does not seem to want to work there anymore. A small mistake was made on the order & it seemed to ruin her day even more. She continually gave the guy behind the counter that took my order dirty looks and had a scowl on her face. The last thing I want to see and deal with that early in the morning is someone who seems to hate their job and is grumpy and unfriendly. The only reason I’ve gone back the last three times is because my partner really enjoys the cream cheeses, other than that I have no interest going to this location. Normally i’d shoot this shop a ‘5’ ( for Colorado) Unfortunately, i feel inclined to tell the awesome staff that your bagels have been missing the mark lately. Im starting to see and taste hints of Panera Bread & Einsteins. Im truly hurt and disappointed that my favorite bagel establishment for over 10 years is falling to the tastes of chipper & buffy. They are more doughy then ever, lacking of that special ‘bagel taste’ (did you change water supplies?) and too much corn meal. Can you get a bagel with more than 11 granuals of salt? I counted. Too keep this short and to the point, your bagel quality is rapidly falling down hill. Please wake up, smell the coffee and taste what you bake.
