I reached out to Mr. Handyman because of the good reviews. The final product and work looks good. They were fast and timely. We had three fence posts replaced with metal posts. This company’s cost is high in general. I have had work done like this before for 2/3 the cost. Again though, with the reviews I was willing to take the chance. The process was a bit strange. The original technician left two of the steel posts sticking up well above the fence line. He also left all the raw materials behind (old fence posts and concrete). Toni at the front desk helped get that fixed. The technician apparently “forgot” to finish that. I do hope he didn’t forget anything else in the process of the job. I was charged extra for a dumping fee after I requested the material be removed. That was a first I have ever experienced that regarding fence work. It was not much…$20. They did fight hard for that $20 and were unwilling to yield. They justified it saying because the original guy didn’t do the work to complete it the first day, I got a benefit since I was not charged for the second guy doing that work. If the first technician has completed the job fully I would have been charged an extra hour. It honestly felt like they were telling me to be grateful the original technician messed up….which is, at best, weird. Overall with the added follow-up/project managing I had to do for completion, the cost of my time as well and the awkward experience I am uncertain whether to...
Read moreThe scheduling was very easy & quick. The handyman arrived right on time and did a great job evaluating the issue and clearly explained how he could complete the repair quickly & effectively as well as the costs involved and estimated time to complete.
The repair involved painting the area as well. Not only did he do a great job touching up the affected area but while he had the roller out, he touched up a couple of other areas that needed it. Above and beyond in my book & I really appreciated it.
Mr. Handyman prices are on the high side but well worth it for quick response and sending a qualified person that immediately instilled confidence. Yes, you can find an independent to do it cheaper but the added value of a company who is licensed & insured as well as the vetting they do has value in my book. Knowing there is a company behind the tradesman who will stand behind the work and make it right if something goes wrong are more than worth the extra...
Read moreI called Mr. Handyman as my stairs collapsed on one side and needed to be leveled out and secured properly. On November 24th, Beau informed me he had to replace the wood stair stringers and I agreed. Well he had to have purchased the wrong size because when I went out to see his completed work he had butchered my railing down at least 8" thus shortening the length of my stairs which are now too steep. In order to accommodate this shortage he crammed MY walking steps underneath the end of the steps which increased the drop on the last step 8". It's hazardous and an eye sore at best. Never did Beau ask me if it was okay to shorten the length of the steps. Clearly the answer would have been no. He also padded the bill by 15 minutes because I saw him leave at 11:30. This company needs to do the right thing by fixing these steps. The owners knew on Wednesday I am not happy about this shabby repair job. They have yet to contact me. I will...
