My first and last experience at HuHot (During COVID-19): My family and I had traveled down to Indianapolis for the 4th of July weekend and stopped at HuHot on Sunday as we made our way back north to go home. This was one of the very few resturants that allowed indoor seating which was about the only reason we came to eat here. Normally, we would have gone to our favorite Thai resturant but that place was unfortunately closed on Sunday. We didn't know what to expect so we ordered off of the little cards at the front of the resturant for our first dishes that we ordered. When our waitress (Trish) knew that we had never eaten at a place like this, she made a loud sigh and reluctantly explained the dining process to us. Already, it appeared as though she did not want to be there or serve us. Every single dish that we ordered was missing up to 5 ingrediants and despite our first complaints during our initial dishes, the rest of the evenings dishes were still met with incomplete ingrediants from what we had originally ordered. Not to mention, it had taken at least 15 minutes for us to recieve our dishes despite the resturant only having 5 other tables to serve. Tables that were empty were littered with food from other families and the bathroom had appeared as though someone took a bath in the sink; there was hair everywhere. Toilet paper was litered on the ground and there was no hand sanitizer available anywhere in the facility besides the front door. I'm not sure Govenor Holcomb would be very pleased with the lack of hand sanitizer available for your guests during such a pandemic as the one we find ourselves in. When we complained to our waitress, she continously stated that she wasn't the person who made the food, which is something that we understood but I didn't find it appropriate to immediately throw the blame on your fellow employees that you work with. Arent you guys a team that work together to complete the same common goal of serving the public good food and creating memorable experiences? Later, she went on a rant about how COVID has affected the buisness and how the cooks are not used to having to gather the ingrediants for the dishes; normally the guests would but not with COVID. At the end of the day, we have all been affected by COVID not just in the US but in the world. We have all had to make sacrifices and changes in our lives to adapt to the circumstances. If you can't adapt, YOU WILL NOT SURVIVE! That means not making excuses when you cant complete a basic task. The ingrediants we want are on the sheet, it's not a guessing game of what to give your guests; complete the task. Lastly, the food. The quality of the ingrediants was subpar and mediocre. If I were you, I would go to the store and buy fresh quality ingrediants to make my own dish at home where I know I'll have all the ingrediants I want, not just half of them. Don't waste your...

First of all, we are not from the Lafayette area and we have never been to HuHot Mongolian Grill before. We asked the server how it worked and she explained that you just grab a bowl and fill up what you want and then have the person at the grill cook it for you. There is no signs that explain that it is an all-you-can-eat situation and that you MUST eat what you get without the option of taking any left overs home. My daughter and I both got 1 bowl each. However, she only ate about 5 bites and said her stomach was bothering her and she couldn’t eat any more. We asked about a take home box and the server said they don’t let you take your food home. We asked if she would make an exception because we had not been told it was an all-you-can-eat and we only planned to go through once anyway. She was emphatic that it was a “No”. I asked if she could please ask a manager and she said, “I am the manager”. Our server/manager (Chrissy D.) was pretty cold & inconsiderate about it! She even made sure to ask my daughter her age so she could make sure to charge her the adult pricing for the food she didn’t even get to eat.
We should have known better eating here when we saw that all the employees were wearing shirts that show their posted 1-Star reviews about their restaurant! They think the 1-Star reviews they get are a joke apparently…but they are entirely accurate! The food was mediocre and definitely was not up to temperature... We will never going back to this place...

The manager Alexis was quick to reply to my post and did inform me that she will look into the poor service that day and my email was in spam, which happens sometimes. I will likely give them a second chance. The people who were dining in that day did look like they were enjoying their meal and I hope to have the same experience.
This was my first and last visit. I walked in and it took 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. The only waitress on duty ignored me and served the 4 tables. I asked the man at the grill how I could get service. I only wanted a couple appetizers for takeaway. He said the waitress would take my order. I went back and waited at the podium for another 10 min. Finally I asked for her to take my order. I told her what I wanted , she returned with a bowl and walked away. I’m confused since I’ve never been to the restaurant before. So I ask the very helpful man at the grill what I’m supposed to do with the plastic bowl. He said it’s usually for dine in orders and you get what you want at the bar and he cooks it. So I went to the podium again and asked the girl how I could get my appetizers, she paused, looked at me then walked away. I was there 30 minutes and got no service. I still have no idea the procedures for ordering at this restaurant. The food looked good but without service, how can you even try it??? I emailed the manager and still have had no response 12 days later. Not my kind...
