Another update for 8-24-25; and finally I can give Red Lobster in Lafayette 5 stars. Our meal was excellent (except that darn slaw...oh well I forgive that and give up!). Server, Markie, was excellent! My side salad was huge! Yummy CBB's, best yet! Nice and cool and the music was at a very nice level. Keep up the great work. And by the way, for a Sunday they had lots of workers about, says a lot about Management!! I would like to let you know that the glass partition needs a thorough cleaning as do the glass fronted framed flags. Reason for 4 stars in atmosphere...See photos. This is an update...meal ordered 2/25/25... I have changed my rating to 4-5 stars after giving the Lafayette Indiana store another try. I am happy to report that this experience was much better, and how it should have been last time. We ordered carry out with four meals worth, lots of dragon flavored shrimp and calamari, both excellent. Walts shrimp very good. The monday special lobster is barely worth it. Tiny serving and husband said kind of overcooked (which travel may have caused that) and that was the only ding. The cheddar bay biscuits were not greasy this time. We got all of the selected condiments. All of our food was tasty and fresh. The fish was crispy and it tasted great. I believe the tartar sauce is back to normal. We did not have any coleslaw. I just didn't want to waste my effort on that, as it's not tasted great for the last several years. Bakers were fresh and tasty. Thank you for renewing my faith in our local Red Lobster and providing us an excellent meal. I hope you have many more years serving our area!
ORIGINAL REVIEW 2-3 STARS 1/2025...I was excited to hear that red lobster was being bought by an American Company this past year and said they were gonna bring red lobster back to the way it used to be. I think the Lafayette Red Lobster missed the boat on that one, they forgot to improve our location. Or they really didn't improve much. We just spent $80 and only about twenty five of it was worth eating. The dragon shrimp and calamari are very good, but they almost cooked the calamari too much. We each ordered the crispy crunchy flounder. We have enjoyed it very much in the past and It was true to its name, crispy and crunchy. This time, both of us had fish that was not crispy and crunchy. There were several pieces that tasted very fishy, but it was almost as if they had microwaved it. It was tough, you had to rip it or cut it. It wouldn't break like a good crispy fish shoul, so a big fail on that. I don't know what you guys did to your tartar sauce, but it used to be great. I bought a cup of it and wish I hadn't because it's not worth it anymore. It was great last year. What did you do? And the coleslaw has been terrible for several years. Tried it again and it still isn't any good! Kind of tastes on the edge of spoiling, the many times I've ordered it over the last three or four years.I usually try not to get it.But now you have to pay for a side salad which is ridiculous. Your side options are pretty much starch and broccoli. The hush puppies improved over last year. The buscuits were greasy littke fritters. Baked potato was good, but we got extra extra chive and no sour cream and 2 pats of butter for 2 potatoes. We ordered carry out. I drove up, signed in. They said my meal would be ready at a certain time. That time came and went. And it was before 5:00. Then about 10 minutes later I got a text that said it was on its way out and 10 minutes later after I called them and they said, oh, it's on its way out now. A young lady brought it out and she said, oh I'm sorry it had been sitting there for 10 minutes and I didn't know I was supposed to bring it out here, I was seating people. And so I said it won't even be warm by the time I get home. She said, oh, it wasn't that long it will be warm!! đ Well, it was barely warm and so was the slaw, by then. We have had carry out crunchy fish several times and it was fine, so it wasn't...
Read moreMy neighbor Jerry asked me, Saturday afternoon, that he would like to take me to Red Lobster for lunch for Father's Day. What a cool invite, and gift for Father's Day. Jerry, you're awesome for asking me!
He said he appreciated me having helped him out with a few things. I said Jerry, I was glad I helped in any way I could.
Red Lobster was quite crowded around 12-12:30 pm this afternoon, had to stand for a short while, but not too long. They do get quite a lot of business that comes through there and the location anyway is less than a mile off the interstate.
Anyway, the food was excellent and the sweet tea was filling. The overall experience was just a relaxing soothing enjoyable experience for me, but I can't speak for my neighbor Jerry, though. And I truly liked the day.
The iced tea may have been too sweet, and we all have different preferences in the things we like, but, borderline diabetes drinks right there. Haha, đ Nah, just having some fun.
The server we had was adorable in the way she presented herself, starting the experience enjoyable and more comfortable. So, kudos to our waitress, in customer relations.
The only thing I didn't get, was any pictures of my experience there, so, I'm sorry that I didn't. But, I've been preoccupied with some thoughts, we all do, just part of life.
I ordered a nine-piece, I believe it was, butterfly, coconut batter shrimp, w/baked potato and a salad, sweet tea.
Jerry, my neighbor, ordered Alaskan King-Crab legs, (market value price,) but a bit pricey, âtruly understandable to the reason why, right now, with the inflation cost ever so high,â and a baked potato, and I'm not sure what his other side dish was and a sweet tea.
From a company's point of view, with the pandemic still waving, uncertainties of the economies across the US, and the inflation cost still rising, it still is a good amount of profits being made.
There were biscuits on the table and I didn't even see her bring them. They were quite delicious too.
So, the company that invited me to lunch, the meal, the atmosphere, and the occasion, were worth their weight in gold.
And mostly thank you too, Jerry, my neighbor, I had a great blessed afternoon and a Father's Day. God Bless your heart. And those, reading this review, God...

Red Lobster in Lafayette Indiana was our restaurant of choice tonight. I imagine pretty much everyone has been to Red Lobster so this might not be a eye opening review for those reading.
The Lafayette restaurant is very nice and a newer facility. The menu was a typical Red Lobster menu and they didn't have any special promotions going on. I typically like to go when they have Shrimp-fest. No luck on that this visit. đȘ
We were greeted by a polite hostess who seated Shannon and I immediately. We were instantly greeted by a friendly waitress who served us complementary cheddar bay biscuits and took our drink order. Now I'm not a biscuit expert but as far as I'm concerned you can't beat these biscuits. They are delicious and you have to be careful not to eat too many or you will be full before they bring your meal.
We ordered a stuffed mushroom appetizer. The crab stuffed and cheese covered mushrooms are quite a delicacie. You get six mushrooms and we divide them evenly so we each get 3. Of course I take my spoon and scrape up every bit of the melted mozzarella and cover my three shrooms. Waste not want not... This appetizer is a heavenly treat.
For our entrée we both chose the Admirals Feast. Walt's Favorite Shrimp, bay scallops, clam strips and wild-caught flounder, all fried to a golden brown. Served with cocktail and tartar sauces and choice of two sides.
For our two sides Shannon went with broccoli and french fries and I chose a baked potato and mac and cheese bacon. Shannon had water and I had a bottle of Mich Ultra with a chilled glass to drink. Our meal was delicious! I especially liked the flounder and Walt's shrimp. All of this deep fried goodness was too much to eat in one sitting. It required three to go boxes to bring the leftovers home.
I really enjoy Red Lobster and like to go a couple times a year. Hat's off to the staff of the Lafayette Red Lobster! Super friendly and very efficient service.
5 stars
Until next time Bon appetit.
PS. Even though we were stuffed we slid through the DQ drive thru on our way home. Shannon had a small strawberry sundae and I had a chocolate malt. đ
For some reason my...
