Service was good but can't really rate the food since I only took a few bites before getting very sick. About 5 minutes after our food arrived, one of the female employees decided that it was a good idea to use a bleach based cleaning product to mop in the area where we were eating. The fumes we're so strong that our eyes were watering and our noses and throats burned. I could taste it in my mouth. We asked for a to go box because we could barely breathe. My husband asked for the check but I couldn't wait for him to pay it. I stood outside and waited on him in the cold but at least it was fresh air. He asked our waiter what time they closed thinking that maybe we arrived too close to closing (although that is still no excuse) and they were cleaning up to leave. But that was not the case as the restaurant didn't close for another hour and a half. My husband explained that it might be a good idea to wait until their patrons were finished eating before breaking out with the high potency disinfectant. He apologized and said that it was a regular thing for that particular female employee to do. It was obvious by her attitude that she will continue her cleaning practices with no regard for the comfort of their customers. Doesn't matter to me anymore because we won't be going back. At closing time or any other...
Read moreFirst visit here with two other people. It's located in an older shopping center, and the interior was just as dated. The entryway smelled musty and the windows were dirty. Vertical blinds were old and broken. The menus had as many advertisements (??) as menu items. The plastic glasses and tabletop cards were also covered in local ads. The TV in the background was running ads instead of actual TV. Not a great first impression.
We ordered cheese dip and a side of jalapeños to have with our salsa. The salsa and queso was good and typical Mexican restaurant fare. The chips were warm and fresh but a little too thick for our taste. Salsa did have a little zing to it which was nice.
The veggie quesadilla appetizer was good. Onion, bell pepper, mushroom and cheese. The chicken fajitas were also good, but the veggies had not been cooked quite long enough and were a little firmer than expected. Rice, beans, guac, pico were good. Entrees were warm but probably could have been hotter (fajitas were not sizzling hot.) The house margarita was about as you'd expect.
Service was efficient and friendly, so no problems there.
Overall, it was a good experience. Not awful but not great. The overpowering advertising everywhere and dated decor will keep us from giving it...
Read moreWe had a day pass to Great Wolf Lodge and wanted to order some food to take back to our B&B...I TRIED calling ahead to place the order but the phone just kept going to voice mail with a message stating the voice mail had not been set up. FINE...I go inside and place my TO-GO order and tell them about the phone issue. The waiter took my order and said it would be about 20 minutes. So I sit and wait. FINALLY I go check on my order and it is ready. The waiter (not the same as the one that took my order) reviews the receipt with me. All looks good. When we arrive back at the B&B and begin to open up all our TO-GO boxes we find out that there were NO tortillas for the Fajitas, NO guacamole and NO tostadas (my order) Instead we got 2 orders of Chicken Quesadillas and 1 order of Cheese Quesadillas (KIDS PORTIONS) I ordered one of each, 2 tostadas, Texas Fajitas for 2 and Texas Fajitas for 1. They need to work on quality control to ensure TO-GO orders are correct! The flavor of the food was just OK, not the best by any means. The experience of getting the wrong food and missing items was very disappointing and we...
