The family was on vacation when we went to this restaurant. We love the LongHorn restaurant we go to in our hometown. This location, however, was HORRIBLE! The 1st thing that happened was the waitress got our drinks messed up, not a big deal . The 2nd thing that happened was that our food came out, and when the waitress handed me my plate, I felt stuff on my hands that, well, I should not have and was like, surely that is not food on the bottom of my "clean" plate ?? I waited until she walked away and had my husband help me look at the bottom of my plate, and there was food all around the edges and the middle of the plate and not just one kind of food but who knows what it was. I called the waitress over and showed her, and she took it back . The thing that bothered me about that was she came back with what I ordered, and it was fish that I had made a note of its shape and hmmm it sure did look like the same piece of fish that was on the DIRTY plate I sent back. Then the 3rd thing I couldn't believe it, my grandson says oh look there is a hair ." I'm like, you got to be kidding me??!! I call the waitress over again, and we show her the hair on my grandson's food. She takes the plate, and just like my plate, his new plate of food comes out in about 3 minutes . Then the next thing I know, my husband starts clearing his throat over and over, and I'm thinking, is he choking ? I ask him, "Are you OK? He says yes but continues to clear his throat . I finally ask what is wrong, and he says my steak is covered in so much pepper, and I look, and his steak is literally black . I hear my mother say, "Oh yours, is that way too? Then she says mine is cooked WELL DONE, and she ordered her medium well. My husband says we'll I ordered mine medium rare and he shows me and it is still mooing basically. I, by this time, are over trying to get anything sent back . I mean, I experienced this, and I still shake my head and have a hard time believing ALL of this happened in one dinner experience ESPECIALLY at a Longhorn restaurant. The real kicker with it all was that the waitress did not offer to comp ANY of the bill, nor did she say anything to us. We were so over it that we didn't even say anything to her about the steaks . Read moreI don't normally write negative reviews but the new way carryout is done is ridiculous to say the least. I am all about doing a quick check to make sure everything I ordered is in the bag because it is frustrating to get home and something is left out. Well tonight what is even more frustrating is getting to pickup area, your food is ready, and there are three people ahead of you picking up and you wait in line for 29 minutes to get your food which is right there on the counter. The three people ahead of me, the first one decided to order dessert and then had to call someone from outside to bring more money, so the person checking left and went back and got the dessert when another person asked if she needed any help and she told them no, the 2nd had 3 entrees so we had to wait until the girl actually put a check mark and read out each item with each special detail. The 3rd had to wait because the person doing it was being relieved by another person and the girl who had been doing it made her redo the checkoff because she looked at the check as she put it in the box and she made her take it back out and start again because she didn't actually mark the receipt she just read it off and had the person sign the extra receipt even though she had signed her regular receipt, she had also made her go back and get the receipt from the stack of the 2nd and sign off on it with a signature. At my turn same thing, I had 3 entrees and an appetizer. and she didn't want her looking at receipt and checking she wanted her taking a pen to check off and then have me sign that receipt after I had already signed my card receipt. Again I think it is great to check but have 2 people so the food does not sit there until it is cold. It took me 15 minutes to get home so my food had been ready for 45 minutes by the time I walked in the door so the bread and potato were not hot enough to melt better. The steak had a good taste and topping was excellent but had to microwave. I didn't bother to heat the potato. I would have been happy to check my own order instead of just standing there waiting for that period of time. Good idea to protect establishment but bad way to execute the plan. Read moreI wish I had taken a picture of the food but I didn’t. However the appearance of the food was great. We were seated promptly and greeted by the server right away. The bathrooms weren’t clean when we first arrived but at some point did get cleaned and restocked.
Visited with my family on a Monday night around 8:45pm and we ordered:
•NY strip with Idaho Baked Potato and a garden salad •6oz filet with mashed potatoes and a garden salad •Kids chicken tenders, broccoli, and grapes •Side of fries •Strawberry Lemonades
The food was not hot when it arrived to the table. I wanted to tell the server this to give him an opportunity to rectify the situation but he dropped off the food and NEVER returned to the table.
The steak was cooked medium (warm pink center) just like I asked, it just was NOT hot. As if it sat back there for awhile before being brought to my table. The server seemed flustered. It was apparent that they had just finished a little rush and large party.
We never got refills (nor were we offered any refills or water). My baked potato was room temperature and barely had any bacon in it. It was like a half a teaspoon of chopped bacon which was disappointing. Again, I was going to ask for more bacon but the server NEVER returned.
I ended up going to wait in the car while my partner paid for the food because I was annoyed by then. I would’ve asked to speak to a manager but was already irritated. I used to work as a server many years ago and it was customary for the manager to visit tables to make sure all was going well, this did NOT happen. If it had happened, this review may have gone differently. Or if they worked as a team, maybe another employee would’ve checked on us to see that we weren’t satisfied.
My partner had to flag down another server to get our check, which was then delivered by a different server. Our server finally returned and apologized and his excuse was that he was dealing with an issue from the large party that left when we got there.
Regardless, this was unacceptable and I’m not pleased at all. Im only in the area visiting Great Wolf. When we decide to come back, I’ll probably just skip this restaurant entirely or perhaps order carry out and see if that’s a...
