So this is about the fifth time I went to pick up a double burger for us since Covid restrictions bagan, and each time the food gets worse. At least the hamburgers do because the other breakfast and lunch plates are still decent, but not at the level they used to be.
Initially, my GF and I wrote it off to the fact that most businesses had not adjusted to the new Covid guidelines, less employees and slower business, so it explained why the bread was stale and the burgers dry and flavorless. The first time we called back and complain to one of the employees that answered the phone. The 2nd, about a week later, we tried calling but no one answered and the third bad incident, we spoke to a lady who identified herself as the owner and offered us a certificate so that we could get a free meal the next time, which we turned down. I simply told the owner that we just wanted to be able to enjoy the quality food that they had been serving over the last 20+ years. However, Covid restrictions days are pretty much over and everything‘s almost back to normal so there’s no more reasons for cutting corners.
Today, I went to buy a double burger and specifically told the girl at the register that I preferred that meat be cooked medium and if they couldn’t do that, to at least put put a couple fresh patties on the grill because the last couple times we’ve been there, the meat tasted dry and stale as if it had been sitting on in the kitchen counter for hours before reheating or microwaving to warm up. The girl acknowledged, with a not so friendly smirk and said that she would make sure that would not happen. I sat there and noticed that she said nothing to the chef and to my surprise, the order was ready to go in less than two minutes.
Sadly, as I expected, when he got to the office, about three minutes later, since we only work two blocks away, the bread was stale and crumbly, and the meat was dry, almost to room temperature and McDonald’s like (cardboard) in texture and flavor. The fries and the onion rings were hot and tasted freshly cooked though.
A’s, step outside your door and look south on the street…The reason there’s a long line of cars waiting to get into your competitors driveway down the street, is because In-n-Out doesn’t throw burger on the grill until one has been ordered by the customer. Partially, Pre-cooked burgers and leaving them in a stack until the next customer comes so that you can heat them up in 15 seconds, does not make for good tasting burgers. This was the last straw for us, and several others in our office-after over 25 years of being weekly customers for breakfasts and lunches. A’s, you can’t continue to cut corners in quality and service, and expect to keep good customers. Sorry A’s, but much as we like to support our local small businesses,...
Read moreStarted coming here for their charbroiled burgers & fried zucchini since the early 90's, but I'm not sure I'll return. Prices are now too high, portions too small, and the flavor is not good. The flavor & texture was similar to a hamburger cooked or reheated in a microwave. This is the 2nd time that the food was inedible. When I ordered the cheeseburger, I asked for cheddar or jack cheese instead of American, but they said they only have American Cheese (cheddar is posted on the menu). The order was ready in less than 2 minutes. The meat tasted different - like it wasn't fresh, or it was cooked frozen, or it had been previously frozen, thawed, cooked, or pre-cooked and reheated. The bun was very hard, and it didn't taste fresh. I threw it away. I did not know how to describe the issue, so I ordered another cheeseburger & asked if it was possible to cook it fresh, hot off the grill, without using a microwave to warm it, or to melt the cheese. I was told all hamburgers are made fresh when ordered, & they do not have a microwave. So I switched & ordered a grilled cheese. (still no cheddar available). The sandwich consisted of 2 pieces of bread and 2 slices of American cheese, grilled but only partially melted. Last thing, the fried zucchini was about 25% less zucchini, but 100% increase in salt. (It usually has little or no salt on it.) Tried shaking and wiping the salt off, but that didn't work out to well. The bill was about $22 for a meal that ended up in the trash. Really disappointed with...
Read moreComing here to eat right out of the border was the best idea my big brother has had since sliced bread because he's old. They do have a restroom in case you can't hold it in but besides that I really enjoyed the food here The atmosphere was cool and calm and really quiet. I really enjoyed the Greek salad it was really fresh and just how I like it. The condiments bar was top tier because they have everything ketchup salt pepper sauces napkins You can fill your drinks up as much as you want as long as you're there and honestly I can't compare it to an In-N-Out but it was hand in hand ✋ a real gem it can be a little outdated with its decor but I saw nothing but young people. Except for the ladies taking your order if you take too long they will stare you down and make you feel uncomfortable. PS I thought it was really funny that one of my favorite trees was in the corner of the parking lot I used to pick the fruit off of those trees in San Fernando when my...
