My husband and I went to their new Murrieta location on Saturday night. We saw that Carnitas was no longer there and VIP's Cafe was in its place. I checked out the reviews and menu online and it looked really good so we wanted to give this place a try. It's so close to our house and if we liked it then we would be happy to have a new restaurant to go to or take out from that is so close to home. We went around 6:00pm on a Saturday and there were only 2 other couples there having dinner. I just figured that since their Lake Elsinore location got a lot of good reviews, perhaps the reason why this place isn't more crowded is because its really new to the Murrieta location and its possible that not many people know about it yet. Anyway, our server was very friendly and their food selection is huge! My husband had the meatloaf, veggies and a loaded baked potato and I ended up having breakfast for dinner...a country skillet with a blueberry muffin. We both had iced tea to drink and they were served in huge glass mugs which was pretty cool. Our food arrived pretty quickly and both of our meals looked and tasted really good. So needless to say, since we both had a great experience there, we will...
Read moreWe saw this place and thought we'd give them a try. It's in the outdoor plaza on Newport Rd and Canyon Hills Rd (in the Stater Brothers grocery store plaza and across from Baskin Robbins).
The only turn-off was when we first walked in, it smelled like the sewers. Unsure if they were having plumbing issues, but it almost made me lose my appetite.
We came here during breakfast time on the weekend and it wasn't busy. We were seated right away. Customer service was good. They were friendly and 3 different people came to check if we needed more coffee.
We ordered their orange juice --which was freshly squeezed. That was a big plus! Their syrup was also served warm in the bottle.
We tried their Nutella crepe which tasted like it was filled with creme cheese for $12.99 and it was $4.00 more to add sausage/ bacon and 2 eggs. Very tasty. We also ordered their Popeye omelet-- which was also very tasty. As for their price, it was a little more on the higher end price for what they had to offer-- in my opinion. It seemed like a lot of their average breakfast price was about $18/ plate.
There are lots of parking, so no need to worry about that.
Overall, it was...
Read moreI left the place in across the street from the Canyon Lake main gate because I was sitting there a long time before a waiter came. I’m glad I left there or I wouldn’t have visited VIP. VIP was an exceptional alternative and a must nicer location, venue and atmosphere. My waitress, Jennifer, i think her badge showed had a wonderfully pleasing persona and voice - and a cut Halloween tutu. My food was great with an interesting way to order that probably drove the price a bit higher. I liked the food, eggs, bacon, French toast. The biscuit was a standard doughy issue but everyone except for the rare, very rare few take the time to really put out a grand biscuit product. But they don’t advertise just biscuits, but rather biscuits and gravy. And you can cover up a bad biscuit if you want the gravy. Next time I’ll pass. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and the atmosphere. The waitress was very nice. Menus prices were higher than the place that ignored me, but,...
