Barraco's Pizza — Restaurant in Lake Township

I am highly disappointed and dissatisfied with my purchase tonight. I called to place my order for pick up I ordered the Pasta Bianco and asked that the spaghetti noodles the use be substituted with linguine instead and add extra sauce. My family and I have patronized the other location in Oak lawn for over 20 years, I decided to try this location out on the way home. Let me mention I live in Hyde Park so not to close.

When I get home I opened my food put the fork in and what do I have SPAGHETTI !!!😫 the location is closed and I cant call to inform them of the error and I am hungry. Additionally it must have been leftover pasta or something because I found 4 pieces of "penne pasta suprise" while forking the pasta on my plate. There was very little chicken and even less mushroom. I'm at a loss for words to describe this mess of a meal. I could have easily boiled a box of pasta and added alfredo sauce and tossed a few pieces of broccoli, a few slivers of mushroom and a few chunks of chicken and probably had done better and with less inconvenience. The most disturbing part about it is that my ticket/ kitchen ticket clearly states what I wanted so what happened??? Did someone in the kitchen decide that they were going to give me whatever they wanted to and I would not be able to tell until I was too far from the restaurant anyway....being that I was a carryout and not dine in customer. Paying non the less. There needs to be some quality assurance put in place evidently because I read 2 other reviews describing similar circumstances.

It appears that like many establishments prices are up and service is down. Shoddy carryout service there was no butter for my roll, 3 small packets of parmesan cheese for the entire meal and no plastic cutlery or napkins either. I had stopped coming as frequently because the quality changed over the years and unfortunately not much has changed for the better.

Unfortunately I was served white wine at room temperature that had lipstick stains on the rim of the glass when the server set it down on table.😔 I still had to wipe the rim of the replacement glass because the server didn't check to make sure this glass was thoroughly clean either.☹ I ordered the fried calamari it came to me warm, not hot! I ordered the healthy pasta and a side order of sauteed shrimp in olive oil and garlic with a side salad. Instead of my server bringing my salad first and then my entree he brought them out together. I was a little annoyed by that because I had not finished my appetizer and would have liked to have enjoyed my salad at a leisurely pace with my appetizer. By the way, the salad was very good. My entree not so much. The healthy pasta, although had garlic as an ingredient was not garlicky in taste at all. Very Bland not much flavor at all to my dismay. No salt or crushed red pepper or even Parmesan cheese was offered. And at this point I didn't bother to ask for it because all I wanted to do was finish my salad, appetizer, and wine. Take my healthy Pasta home and Doctor it up to try and enjoy it later 😣 I ordered a cannoli for dessert that was very tasty! I recently had the pleasure of ordering catering from Borracos Pizza for my healthcare facility staff, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. As an Office Manager responsible for catering to 43 employees, I've had my fair share of interactions with restaurants, but my experience with Borracos Pizza stands out.

Eduardo (Eddie) answered my call, and from the get-go, his customer service was beyond excellent. Having worked in a restaurant myself, I know how busy things can get, and phone calls are often rushed. However, Eddie was the epitome of attentive and respectful service. Not once did I feel rushed. He listened carefully to my needs, offered thoughtful recommendations, and took his time to ensure everything was just right.

Eddie's exemplary service left a lasting impression on me, and I can confidently say that Borracos Pizza will be my go-to choice for future catering needs. If all employees are trained to provide the same level of service as Eddie, I have no doubt that Borracos Pizza will continue to thrive and succeed for years to come.
