If you’re navigating through the vibrant food landscape of Chicago with a penchant for Jamaican flavors, Jerk48 should be at the top of your list. I stumbled upon this culinary treasure a couple of years ago through a YouTube recommendation, and it was love at first bite. Jerk48, particularly the original location on 67th Street, quickly became a staple in my foodie explorations.
Today, I ventured to their newer outpost on 95th for the first time, and I’m thrilled to report that the magic of Jerk48 remains undiminished. The consistency of their food’s quality and freshness across locations is commendable. In a city teeming with dining options, the wait at Jerk48 is a testament to the exceptional culinary experience that awaits.
But Jerk48 is more than just its food. It’s the vibrant personalities behind the counter that truly define the Jerk48 experience. It’s almost as if possessing a sparky personality is a prerequisite for working here. They welcome you with a bright smile, ready to serve you with efficiency and a sprinkle of humor, ensuring your visit is memorable before the food even hits your table.
The jerk chicken, a classic Jamaican dish, is nothing short of spectacular here. But don’t stop there. The shrimp Alfredo and jerk chicken tacos are a fusion of flavors that will transport your taste buds straight to the heart of Jamaica. It’s this inventive twist on traditional dishes that sets Jerk48 apart.
Jerk48 isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an essential Chicago experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, missing out on this spot would be a culinary sin. So, take my word for it: visit Jerk48 and dive into the best Jamaican cuisine Chicago has to offer. Your palate...
Read moreSo I use to go to Jerk 48 heavily back in its peak 2021/2022. I always would go to the 67 location but this my first time going to the Beverly location. First off the staff was very nice and very very friendly. Exceptional customer service. The restaurant made some extreme changes. The food didn’t taste how it use to taste. It could be because I went to another location than the original location I use to go to or because they just change their recipe but I didn’t like my food. The red beans and rice didn’t have any favor like it use too. The Mac n cheese was different. It wasn’t bad just wasn’t how it originally use to be. The jerk chicken wasn’t seasoned how it use to be and the jerk sauce wasn’t spicy. It’s always been pricey but the prices went up. Could be because of the economy. The prices online are cheaper because they are updating their system and those were the old prices. My daughter however loved it except for the red beans and rice she also said it was bland. I forgot to mention the yams taste good and was the same as I remember it. They need to go back to their old recipes or bring the cook from 67 to Beverly. Definitely come here and try it...
Read moreJerk 48 unfortunately I had a very poor experience from beginning to end. Your business needs to address how to deal with time management & customer service. I had to wait well over an hour for an order I placed. The cashier was barely holding on. Everyone was yelling at her. Which she didnt deserve at all. All the customers who had placed orders were waiting well over an hour. Asked for a manager he just looked and ignored all the customers waiting and complaining. This is no way to run a business you take my money but not able to address my concerns or issues. I will not be coming back because of your manager who had poor customer service skills. While ignoring everyone in the establishment. BTW most had been waiting over an hour plus. Let's be clear a place with good food but poor customer service will go under. It's about the way you treat and address people who support your business. And on top of all that you didn't give me my mac & cheese. If you take well over an hour at least...
