I visited this restaurant with a group of 10, and while the service started off well, things quickly took a turn. The waitress took our orders and confirmed them before heading to the kitchen. As dishes began arriving, everyone in our group started eating, but unfortunately, my food never came out. After noticing everyone else had been served, I asked the waitress how much longer my Boat Noodle Soup would take. She mentioned they were busy but assured me it was on the way.

I tried to be patient, but as time went on, it became increasingly frustrating to see other tables who had arrived after us being served before me. Sensing my frustration, the waitress brought me a Thai tea, which was a nice gesture, though I’m not particularly fond of it. I appreciated the thought and sipped it slowly, but by the time the rest of my group finished their meals, I still hadn’t received mine.

Finally, I decided to go up to the counter and ask for my meal to be packed to go. It still took another five minutes or so to get it. To top it off, I was disappointed to find that my meal was still charged to the bill despite the long wait and inconvenience.

It’s unfortunate because the food my friends had was praised, but I left feeling frustrated and hungry, with a sense that the service didn’t live up to the...

Our first visit was for dinner before a show, and we were a bit worried about time with a wealth of choices on the extensive menu plus specials. Lucky for us, our personable server and photos looping on a screen in the restaurant helped us narrow down our order. We decided on several dishes to sample among our group, which I would recommend.

Our egg rolls came out golden, crispy, and amply filled. They're quite unique in size (extra large) and flavor (very mushroom forward) but familiar in texture to other similar Thai egg rolls.

Basil Crispy Pork was the highlight of our entrees. This is a rich dish all around: sweet and salty glaze, fatty pork belly... doesn't get much better than that.

Basil Chicken was quite familiar to other Thai restaurants and nicely done. The peanut sauce for the Chicken Satay had a welcome, slight chili heat, and the dish was more than plenty for an entree with a side of jasmine rice.

I neglected to jot down the name of the meatball dish from the specials. It was quite spicy compared to our others, but had a complex "sausagey" flavor that was balanced well with the veg served alongside.

We very much enjoyed our food and experience here and will look forward to another visit when we're in...

The food here was okay, but the service was awful. It is cash only and we paid our bill leaving a 20% tip. After we paid, one of the cashiers who took our payment came back and brought back only $1 in change when we paid $10 tip. We thought this was odd, but assumed they kept the tip already.

Then it gets really weird because a woman comes up to our table (who wasn’t one of our servers) and asks how the service was. We said it was great and then she starts yelling at us asking, if it was so great why did we only leave $1 tip. We stated we left more tip and she walked away in an angry manner saying we need to talk to the cashier. It ended up being the cashiers fault and he did not give us correct change, but the employee who yelled at us in front of the entire restaurant did not even apologize. It was absolutely unprofessional and ridiculous, and also extremely embarrassing. I will never go back. Andy’s Thai Kitchen needs to work on their customer service because that was unacceptable. I wish we would have kept our tip after...

Not perfect for a five star review, but I was quite happy with my experience at Andy’s for BYOB, wide menu full of different dishes and an authentic take on those dishes. I think the cash-only part is also worth it for BYOB and generous portions. Everyone at our table was very happy with the flavors and ingredients in all of the dishes. I get the sense that not every dish comes out the same every time, especially in regards to heat level. My “spicy” pad Thai udon was sweet and less spicy except for the sliced jalapeños (which were good), almost to the point of being overly sweet, and overly sauced, with nothing special about the chicken, but the fresh ingredients and flavor profile still made for a great pad Thai and the udon was a nice twist. Pad kee Mao, Penang curry and crispy pork belly were all well received, with the pork belly maybe not quite crispy enough. I would rather come here and try all the different dishes then go to a slightly trendier spot at a higher price point. It captured the ethos of casual Thai food perfectly.

Yikes. I am new to the Chicago area and was looking for a Thai place I could frequent. I guess I’ll just have to keep looking… I order the ATK fried rice with chicken. First issue: upon opening the container there was no chicken. Secondly I asked for this to be made as spicy as humanly possible. It also says “spicy” on the menu. I tasted no spice whatsoever. I see 2 jalapeño slices in there and they aren’t even hot. And lastly, this just had no flavor at all. Thai food is know for its plethora of spices and flavors and this meal was so unbelievably bland. My thai place at home comes out smelling amazing and is vibrantly green and red and the rice has that toasty brownish color to it. This meal what white as can be (and tasted just as plain as it looked). Only color was the 2 green jalapeño’s. So disappointing especially considering it was $17. I will gladly pay that for great food, but not for below average. Will not be going back here again…
