Bonci Pizza — Restaurant in Lake View Township

I was driving to Costco, and saw a new sign up that had looked familiar. I had just recently gone to the Bonci in West Loop, so when I recognized the squiggly guy, I audibly yelled out "Oh! Bonci!" while making the turn. My daughter asked "what's a 'bon-chee'?" and I answered "it's where we're going for dinner tonight, as soon as I can convince your mother." You see, my wife works at a restaurant that does pizza, so convincing her to eat at a new place is hard enough, let alone pizza. "So, they take these scissors..." is how I started to describe the place, and you could tell that I was losing the both of them. I knew if the word eggplant left my mouth, it would be over, so I kept that to myself even though the eggplant pizza is my absolute favorite. "They have this meatball pizza that tastes like it has giardiniera already on it!" is what got them in the door. I'm a big fan of being able to try an assortment of different flavors, and the unique way that Bonci offers the ability to have a completely custom pizza with exactly how much of each topping you want allows me to sample daring combinations while my family plays it safe with their favorites. Bonci, a personal favorite despite not every pizza hitting the mark for me, offers a unique pizza experience. Their ever-changing selection ensures a diverse range of options throughout the day. At the same time, the burrata basil and lemon ricotta zucchini, cacao e Pepe, and spicy eggplant are my favorites with their incredible flavors!

One thing that keeps me hooked is their rotating pizza menu, ensuring a variety of choices every visit. Although some slices like the arugula burrata, margarita, and four cheese aren’t my favorite, they have many options!

They've got this excellent setup where they offer up a bunch of different pizzas, then they slice them up to whatever size you're feeling and warm it up just before they serve it. It's like a pizza paradise where you can try a little bit of everything without committing to a whole pie.

The ambiance leans more towards takeout, but they do offer limited seating for a dine-in experience. The service is also fantastic - they are super friendly! I'm excited to keep coming back to Bonci, exploring their ever-changing array of pizzas, and discovering...

Haven’t had Bonci in a couple of years. First time at this location. Everything was fine, the dough looks more brown than I remembered but that could be me remembering wrong. Service was pleasant, but food is so overpriced considering that these pizzas are out until they’re gone, meaning they could be out for hours. What I got was just under $21 with tax, no tip. I think this is exorbitantly expensive for what I got and will not be going back anytime soon for that price. Perhaps the area can support it, because there may be a lot of professionals with disposable incomes that will pay the expense for convenience and proximity in the area, but I feel like this place would be so busy if the pricing wasn’t so egregious.
