I have been shopping at this Ulta for almost 2 years now. Recently my mom got her hair done here at the beginning of August 2025. We booked a stylist who spoke Spanish for my mom. When we got there I was surprised because the hairstylist didn’t speak Spanish but I didn’t think much. The hairstylist started working on my moms hair but towards the end of the process near the trimming and blow drying part me and my mom started realising that her hair wasn’t looking like how we wanted so we told the stylist, the stylist started yelling us it’s because her hair is wet. Which I understood but anyone with their five senses working could tell that it wasn’t really looking like how we wanted. So my mom got up to try to go look at a bathroom mirror but the stylist started yelling at my mom infront of me. My mom doesn’t speak English so she didn’t even understand the stylist and then she started yelling at me. I kept my calm but inside I was genuinely uncomfortable and horrified mind you I’m a minor. The manager came in and she started watching us. But when I tried speaking to the manager the stylist started yelling at me more. I was scared and anxious I had no idea what to do I have never been in a situation like this before. I tried asking for a discount and we would pay the amount and leave with the hair wet and the most the manager could do was a $5 discount which would leave the total to $405 to job we didn’t like which is crazy. The manager watched me as if she was making fun of me while watching the hair stylist yell at me and my mom. This whole situation was horrifying and I wish that the owner or manager of the entire location of this Ulta would fire the hair stylist manager and whoever did my moms hair that day which I’m sure would know because there are cameras and I know that the workers that day were in the wrong. Because the worker was yelling at a minor client and a client who doesn’t even speak English that didn’t even raise their voice at any of the workers while they humiliated at us and the stylist kept yelling me and my mom infront of the manager and the manager didn’t even do anything or interfere to try to make us clients a bit more comfortable. And we found out the stylist that did my moms hair wasn’t even the stylist we wanted and when we asked for a discount for that and the horrible service she ignored me and acted as if I was clown. This was truly embarrassing, unprofessional on the workers part, scary, and uncomfortable. These two workers should not be working at Ulta. They seem nice at first but once you tell them you don’t like the job the stylist explodes and starts yelling at you and all they offer is a $5 discount. This situation made me lose my voice at the moment and caused me to feel anxious. And till this day my mom doesn’t like how her hair turned out. The owner of this place should most definitely fire these two workers and be more professional when a situation like this...

My mom and I went shopping at this ulta for my birthday, and since they have a salon; I wanted to treat myself to a wash and blowout. I went to the salon and asked if they had any availability. The stylist told us yes, that she would be able to take us both. When she offered a treatment, I said yes why not. The treatments she gave my mom, she did it at the chair not the sink, she was so rough on my mom - when it was time for the blow dry - she gave my mom a helmet look, instead of fixing it she added this gel like product at the root that made my moms hair oily at the root. Then, it was my turn. I have had the chem shot done on my hair before so I was excited! My hair was in a bun all day so my ends were tangle and I knew my hair needed the treatment. She pulled the ponytail out, pull at my hair so rough I was like dang. When it was time to shampoo, she literally didn’t even washed my hair good, she concentrated on my crown area, when she applied the chem shot, again only at the top, when clearly my ends needed more. She didn’t brush the treatment through my ends. Didn’t even brush the hair out to remove the hair that falls out everyday. As I was walking to the station, I was brushing my ends with my fingers to untangled my ends. She then proceeded to brush my hair so roughly it was so painful. The blow dry, my scalp was burned and again I had a flat oily and smelly hair. When my mom and I left the store we were both complaining about our scalps. We both had to wash our hair when we got home. My hair took three washes before I was able to get the smell out. My moms hair was so dry, she has natural salt and pepper hair, and it’s so soft and smooth. She was frizzy for like 2 days. Then, she noticed that her ears were burned at the tip, and now has dry patches and I had to cut a few inches off to make my hair feel healthy. For $145 dollars it was...
