I recently had an absolutely dreadful experience at Capriotti's, and I feel compelled to share just how awful it was. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this was going to be a disappointing visit. The service was nothing short of horrendous. The employees were not just inattentive but downright rude and disgusting towards their customers. It was as if they had no interest in being there, and their disdain for the patrons was palpable.
The first issue I encountered was with the bread. I ordered a sandwich, expecting a decent meal for the price I was paying, but what I received was shocking. The bread was soggy, and falling apart. It was so bad that I couldn't even hold the sandwich properly because the bread was disintegrating in my hands. It felt like it had been sitting out for hours, absorbing moisture and becoming a mushy mess. This wasn't just a minor issue; it completely ruined the entire meal.
As I bit into the sandwich, it only got worse. The fillings were meager and lacked any semblance of freshness. The vegetables were limp and tasteless, and the meat was dry and flavorless. It was as if no effort had been put into making the sandwich even remotely appetizing. Given the high prices, I expected at least a decent quality meal, but what I got was far from it. The ingredients were clearly of low quality, and the preparation was sloppy at best.
The overall atmosphere of the place was also terrible. The dining area was dirty and unkempt, with trash scattered around and tables that hadn't been cleaned in ages. It was clear that the employees didn't care about maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for their customers. Instead, they seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves and ignoring the needs of the patrons.
To add insult to injury, the customer service was abysmal. When I approached the counter to express my dissatisfaction, I was met with eye rolls and dismissive attitudes. The employees made no effort to rectify the situation or offer any sort of apology. It was as if my concerns were an inconvenience to them, and they couldn't be bothered to address them. This level of disrespect was appalling and completely unacceptable.
In conclusion, my experience at Capriotti's was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The service was terrible, the employees were incredibly rude and disgusting towards their customers, and the food was expensive yet of very low quality and poorly made. The soggy, undercooked bread that fell apart in my hands was just the tip of the iceberg. The overall lack of care and attention to detail was evident in every aspect of my visit. I would strongly advise anyone considering a meal at Capriotti's to look elsewhere. There are plenty of other places that offer better food, better service, and a more pleasant dining experience. Save your money and avoid Capriotti's...
ย ย ย Read moreI'm leaving this review because I am completely disappointed with the the quality and taste of food that I have received today and I spent over 140.00. The majority of the food was tossed in the garbage. What a waste of money. First, my sandwiches were not labeled so I had no idea what I was opening. Second, cold sandwiches were mixed and tied shut in plastic bags with hot food, which made my cold food hot and the food extra soggy. The pastrami meat tasted bad, as if the meat was expired and completely drenched in way too much sauce. It was missing swiss cheese and just had a little cole slaw with way too much pepper. The large cheesesteak sandwiche did not taste good at all and were over done and had a burnt flavor to it and missing cheese. I ordered a large wagyu cheesesteak with extra wag and I got a large regular cheesesteak instead. Lost money there and again tasted terrible. My cold Wagyu beef sandwich was awful. The Wagyu was all dark brown, had a bad smell to it and I noticed the beef was chopped in small squares. Why? Im not a kid needing my wagyu cut up for me. Aren't you suppose to have thin slices of beef on a cold sandwich? It also had too much grissle on it, this should be trimmed off before you slice it up. The cole turkey was ok but ease up on the pepper guys. The cheese that was used had a very soft and rubbery texture more like mozzarella and not provolone, so on my sandwiches it was all melted, rubbery and balled up and didn't hold its shape which made sandwiches look terrible as well. The onions used were sliced way too thick and had a weird taste to them. It ruined my tuna sandwich. The bread you are using for the cold sandwiches are hard and crusty on half of the outside. The cold Bobbie was a disaster and I ended up with a small bone in my turkey. Thank God my kid didn't choke. I never received any of my grilled cheese sandwiches that I ordered and when asking them where are they, they said they didnt see them on the order and then never even offered to make them for me and just acted as if I don't get them. They packed the sides of mayo with the hot food so the mayo was hot when opening the bag. Anyways, I will not be returning here and I am upset I wasted all of this money on food we never ate or got to enjoy today along with telling our friends and family it was going to be great, and ended up being embarrassed by this experience and shorted out of a wagyu cheesesteak. I have been to another Capriottis before, and their food and service was outstanding! Management should start checking on the food quality and service they are providing. It's obvious they need to be...
