Hacienda D’Suarez — Restaurant in Lake View Township

Went there with some friends who were visiting out of town. Terrible experience.

Service: Had to wait 10 mins before anyone came over to seat us. Tables had visible dust on them (it was 6pm, so may be they didn't get to them yet?). Waiter asked if we were ready to order within 2 mins of being seated and even before he brought us the menus. Upon placing the order, we waiting 45 mins to get the side guacamole/chips and the beers we ordered. Beers came as cans, no glassware to pour them. Water and other drinks were served in 6oz plastic cups; no refills. Entrees came out 1 hr 10 mins after placing the order. Had to ask waiter several times to bring silverware. He finally came back with flimsy plastic ware that you would get at taco bell.

Food: Bland, poorly prepared and presented. Lacked basics like salt and spice. Meat in all the dishes we ordered was dry. Guacamole was mostly tomatoes and onions with only a hint of avocado. Rice was sticky like sushi rice. Fajitas arrived in a plate instead of a hot skillet/sizzle plate. Tacos were bland and cold. Beans were dry.

Billing: We asked them to bring us separate checks but they refused. Said they can do only one check per table. Our bill came out higher than expected but the waiter did not give us an account of how they calculated it (said they can't print itemized check).

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food or good service, stay away...

I have been a sporadic visitor of this bar but will likely never go again after my last experience. My girlfriend and I walked over to Hacienda last night after a nice dinner in town, hoping to end the night with some drinks and dancing. When we arrived the bar had a line which didn’t turn us off too much. We waited in line for about 20 min. Once we got to the door my girlfriend was allowed in with little issue. The bouncer then turns to look at me and immediately shakes his head and points me to leave saying “You’re too drunk”. Remind you, I had just been at dinner and consumed only one beverage. I don’t know what from my appearance that night (khaki shorts, denim shirt) made the bouncer make such an inaccurate assessment. The situation left a bad taste in both my girlfriend and I’s mouth, and we both swiftly moved on to one of the many other bars in the area. As a disappointed patron who feels there may be some form of prejudice in play, I hope Hacienda can right an issue that seems to be plaguing this bar based on other reviews. whoever this new chick bouncer is gotta go. like what do you mean you’re taking my vape that i put my mouth on. mixing it in a bag with other peoples vapes that they put their mouths on. not only is it a safety hazard cause helllloooo herpies but the fact that this girl said and i quote “if you find it in the bag” in response to us asking if we will get our stuff back. idk what yalls deal is but im an adult if you tell me not to vape i wont vape but to take it and then for someone else to take my vape?! i have it for anxiety it was literally no nic. if other places have no issue with vapes you should have that on your door. literally right next to a vape store too. fix your shit y’all cause it’s not a vibe if you got a chick at the door patting women down like...
