This Ross has always been on a slow decline, but within the last year it has been rapid. None of the employees have a work ethic snd are the least personable people imaginable. Almost like they employed them that way on purpose. First off, their āsecurityā that does nothing but stand at the door all day, doesnāt even greet you. The whole point of being there is so that thieves know that they are seen and acknowledged, and someone knows their face and clothes. That is literally the job. But sheās just sitting there playing on her Apple Watch. This store is lazy. They close the dressing room an entire HOUR early. The majority of people are here for clothes. Closing an essential function of a business an hour early is ridiculous. Not to mention the lady in the back that clearly did not want to talk to any customers said the front could hold it until tomorrow since it was closed. After four times of repeating myself to the cashier up front, she says no she canāt. So I leave for a bit to put some things back so I can buy them and return them tomorrow. I walk back up, a different cashier starts walking up, and asks me if Iām paying with card. I said yes and she goes, ādo you wanna try self check-outā⦠Iām the only one in the line; sheās doing nothing, nobody else is doing anything, and she wanted to keep it that way I guess. I Didnāt wanna deal with her anyway so just said sure and went to self check out. Again, I am the ONLY ONE in this self check out line. Their loss prevention watches me scan 4 items, pay for them, grab my receipt. I put it in my wallet, because I know Iām going to need it, bro watches me do that as Iām walking over to him, zip it up, and put my wallet away. After already doing the first tag he goes, I have to see your receipt. Are you serious lmao? Just every single aspect about this Ross is horrid. It needs to be uprooted and replanted and literally an entire new set of employees. Iāve worked service jobs my entire life, this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust like the Ross in Central Tacoma, loss prevention exceeds standard protocol to the point you feel like youāre being accused of shoplifting just to exit the store after purchase. After you make your purchase at the register or kiosk, the loss prevention guy goes through your bag and inspects each item against your receipt and then remove security tags one by one. What are the cameras for? Or better yet do you not trust the integrity of your cashiers? Because they are the ones ringing things up and placing them in the bags at the register. As far as the kiosk checkouts are directly right in front of loss prevention to the point you can basically have a conversation with him because heās standing right there watching you scan. Does he not trust his own eyes the first time? Can you imagine spending your hard earned money just to be subjected to criminal accusations simply because the store doesnāt have great security measures in place for the few that do. Now you treat every single customer like a potential suspect? Well thatās what shopping at Ross in Lakewood feels like. Itās really disheartening because this location has some of the better selections and deals Iād say in Pierce county. Unfortunately, like much of Pierce county, punishment for retail theft is so weak the only way Ross can do business is to treat every single customer that walks in/out the door like suspected shoplifter. Unfortunately, the experience at this Ross has been so offensive, I plan on just making the 1.5drive-2.0drive to the Lynwood or Redmond Ross, where they have great selection, great prices as well as great customer experience, because, the convict treatment for all in Lakewood and Tacoma isnāt the...
Ā Ā Ā Read morept1. was just physically assaulted by an aggressive employee. at the lakewood town center location. the store hours say open till 11pm. The staff is always shutting down early regardless of the amount of employees they have on staff. I shop at this store a few times a week and they always do this type of thing. i came in at 10:15 because the online store hours say till 11pm and the sign on the door says it is open to 11pm in big red writing. but 10 minutes later i hear an announcement t that they were closing early. The announcement is pretty unprofessional sounding by this juvenile employee who has a very agressive demeanor while at work. this is not the first time iāve seen this employee acting like some hot head because he wants to be a store hero of some sort. AND I get it, this is a store of employees who have safety issues with theft and unruly customers. i have been shopping at this ross location for over 10 years and at ross stores in general for over 30 years. Tonight i was going to pay for some items a few minutes after the announcement was madethat the store will not be open till 11pm.and everyone should hurry up and go pay for their stuff. it was the aggressive employee who always manages to say āhave a blessed night ā as if that statement seemed genuine . Not to mention you donāt pretend to act like your giving spiritual advice because it sounds proper and then use foul Language against customers and physically assault them. as i was leaving to go pay this employee sees me and says āhey my man, weāre closing early & so i was going to need to go pay and leave.
