Let me tell you about my latest culinary adventure at Tokyo Joe’s Denver West—home of the most divine poke bowls known to humanity. First things first, their poke bowls? Chef’s kiss! The fanned avocado alone deserves its own award. Perfectly ripe, sliced with precision that would make a samurai jealous, and laid out like a green fan of joy atop the most delectable poke combination. It’s the kind of food that makes you whisper, “Is this real life?” between bites.
But the magic doesn’t stop there! Jaz, the legendary leader, runs this joint like a finely tuned sushi symphony. You can tell they’re the kind of person who wakes up and chooses excellence every day. From greeting customers with a smile brighter than the neon Tokyo Joe’s sign to making sure every dish looks like it’s Instagram-ready, Jaz is the MVP of poke perfection.
And guess what? Maddie, the prodigal cashier, has RETURNED. It’s like the sequel we didn’t know we needed but now can’t live without. Maddie’s got that rare combo of speed, charm, and the uncanny ability to make you feel like the star of your own dining experience. Honestly, the place just feels more alive with her there—like a warm hug wrapped in seaweed.
If you haven’t been to Tokyo Joe’s Denver West, run—don’t walk. Treat yourself to a poke bowl (extra fanned avocado, obviously) and soak up the good vibes. Jaz and Maddie will make sure you leave with a full belly and a smile so big it’ll last till your next visit.
10/10. Would fan my avocado here...
Read moreThis is a great Colorado-based chain for somewhat healthy food. It's a good place to find a meal with fresh vegetables. Even their small bowls are fairly substantial. If I'm not up for a whole bowl, the spring rolls are one of my favorites. I'm probably here once a week. The people at this particular location are always very friendly and the service is quick.
If I had a gripe, I'm really not a fan of the industrial motif Tokyo Joe's uses. I find it cold and uncomfortable. But the food is good so I tolerate it. Also, I've moved away from ordering anything with spinach. I used to love the Boulder Veggie bowl, but the spinach always comes in a wad which I have to pick apart, so I just quit ordering spinach. Otherwise, I've always enjoyed my...
Read moreI order from this location often over the years. Lately the chicken in my teriyaki bowl has really gone down hill. Not sure if they decided to cut costs and order cheaper chicken or just getting lazy on the prep. I had to remove a lot of fat from my chicken, which isn't easy with chop sticks and a plastic fork! They've forgotten my teriyaki, gave me the wrong teriyaki and forgot my sushi, all this has happened recently. Never used to have a problem with this one but maybe management has changed. Hopefully they will read this and correct the problems. I hope they didn't decide to order cheaper chicken, the price to the customer didn't go down... I really like their food but if this continues I'll have to find...
