I was excited, but sorely disappointed. I’ve worked in food service so I understand the struggle - but an hour and a half to get cold, hard, and seemingly pre frozen food just wasn’t worth it. Wouldn’t care to spend $15 here over any other restaurant or even McDonalds, god forbid. I get it can be busy, but that’s really unacceptable. I also observed some the staff simply microwaving orders that had been up for a while and serving them, and even handling food directly with her bare hands. Not okay. They brought us takeout boxes and our check before our food, which was cold, bland and hard anyway. A passive aggressive and ignorant staff combined with the wait and bad food culminated a really, really poor dining experience. I may be able to get over it if I saw ANY orders coming out at all, but it seemed the kitchen simply halted for 45+ minutes. Really disappointed and I won’t...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to try a new restauraunt in downtown Lansing and went to Kelly's for lunch. We walked in the door and waited behind a couple ladies talking in front of the hostess booth. After they finished the conversation, we discovered they were actually the hostess and waitress and finally seated us. By the time our order arrived, the food was cold. Less than five minutes after we started eating the waitress brought our bill and asked if we wanted a box. When we were actually ready to pay, the waitress was nowhere to be found so we had to pay at the bar. The bartender took the bill back to the waitress who aparently couldn't find it in the computer. When they finally came back, the amount charged to the card was incorrect. Overall, good food but very...
Read moreI can only speak to lunch time at Kelly's. I meet a cousin once a year there to keep the family connection, we are both old now. The place really offers the quiet Irish Pub vibe (I have been in dozens in Ireland). It lets people chat quietly not being overwhelmed by music or those ever present big screen TV's. The food is good too. About the only down side has nothing to do with the pub, but rather the parking. At noon there is plenty of it, but there is a two hour limit which makes such meetings seem constrained in time unless everyone shows up at the same time. You can't add time to the "meter". You have to leave, or have the ticket Nazi's descend on your car. Great selection of Irish brews, and liquors, all authentic...
