Hugo's Pizza — Restaurant in Lapeer

Unfortunately didn't have the best experience and I'll explain why.. I'll be upfront and say I did visit on Halloween, which I'm aware is a busy day, but some of the practices couldn't be excused because of the rush of this day. Overall, I wouldn't recommend. Here's why: Upon entering, they do not have any menu board so I had no idea what the options or prices were. The facility was not very clean, messy in the back and unclean floors (but tried to cut them some slack, because it was busy). After placing my order, I handed the man my card, he couldn't figure out how to enter my discount card code, so called another lady over (ok, no problem, I understand). Then they both ended up taking phone orders, asking me to wait (okay, a couple minutes sure, but I waited 10 minutes, and they were still on the phone, with other customers in line behind me). The other man who I could see making the pizzas came over to take another call. He had no gloves on while making the pizzas (which... not my preference BUT ok, I'm sure he washed his hands), but then after taking the phone call went back to making the pizzas, NO GLOVES NO WASHING HANDS. Now that made my decision real easy. I reached over, grabbed my card that they were still holding onto and just said forget it and walked out. Like I said I can understand they were busy but you have to anticipate that Halloween night is going to busy. Staff more people! Due to all of this, I wouldn't recommend this place seeing as there are so many better...

Edit: they did respond within 24 hours to make it right which i respect. We had ordered pizza and bread from them before and wanted to continue to support local. Guess we will be sticking to the basics from now on. But appreciate the fact that they refunded us as my mom wasn’t able to eat anything we had bought that night.

Was extremely dissatisfied, i place an online order for 3 simple things. 2 pieces of chicken, some broasted potatoes and some cauliflower. It took almost an hour for my order to be done ( expected 25 minutes) only to get 1 piece of chicken and it wasnt the piece i even ordered. Apparently a wing is a breast now. And my potatoes were completely cold. They didn’t even offer to refund me they just took the price of the piece of chicken i was shorted off. I wanted to support a local business in this corona crisis but definitely won’t be...

Apparently the staff can not understand English and put in the wrong order over phone. Steak and cheese sounds nothing like BLT. Then I get there after 30 minutes like they said on the phone and have to wait another 15. Finally I get my order and drive all the way home 20 minutes out only to find out they have the wrong order. Call them and they act like I’m an idiot for receiving the wrong food? Bring it back in because I’m hungry and they cannot make the food I ordered so I just take my refund after having to explain why I need a refund. Third graders could’ve been running the place and known more about the situation than these grown adults. To make matters worse the food was soggy and nasty.
