Restaurant Rescue needed... Food network hosts a program you may have seen called "Restaurant:Impossible". In each episode they feature a failing restaurant that has potential, but is failing. In two days they turn the restaurant around. I am nominating "Roxy's on Grand" for this show!
My wife and I went to Roxy's this evening for dinner and it was a massive fail. First off staff training was non-existent. We asked our waitress a couple of questions. First, how they prepare their Calamari. She said she needed to check. She explained that she had just come back to Roxy's after being away and they had changed the menu. We ordered the calamari and it was so so. Small portion for the price.
I also ordered one of their "House Specialty" dishes, the Chicken Parmesan described as "Classic marinara served over spaghetti noodles, grilled or crispy chicken, topped with parmesan, garlic toast". I chose this over the Chicken Alfredo as the Alfredo was served over "penne noodles".
After quite some time she brought the Chicken Parmesan out and you guessed it, penne noodles. She didn't notice that it was wrong and I had to have her bring over a menu to show her. She suggested that maybe the kitchen was out of spaghetti... Not a good answer. She was hoping I would just accept the plate. I said no and she said she would check with the kitchen.
After a few minutes she said they would prepare a new plate correctly. Normally an incorrect order is made top priority at most restaurants. Twenty-five minutes later I sensed she was nervous as she passed our table several times. The on-duty manager/host Chloe came over and explained that my corrected meal had been accidentally given to another guest but they were preparing my meal! We walked out.
Living in Laramie my wife and I always root for the locally owned restaurants. We avoid the chains, as Laramie has some really great places. We sincerely hope the owners of Roxy's can turn...
Read moreMy friends fur coat was stolen from the cowboy, and we found the person wearing it at roxies. When going in and asking the guy nicely to give it back he refused and tried to leave. Please keep in mind the coat was a black and white CROPPED fur coat. It was clearly not a man’s coat. So I went to the bar to ask the bartender for help, explained the situation and he(Rylie) proceeded to yell at me for asking him for help, for beinging drama into the bar, and not allowing the cowboy to resolve the situation. I would have loved to do that because all of the bouncers and bartenders there knew about the situation and were actively trying to help, but the man that stole the coat was no longer there he was at roxies. I’m not really sure what else we were supposed to do, or who we were supposed to ask for help other then the bar tender because there was no bouncer on at roxies. The disrespect Me and my friend got and we’r the things we were called by the bar tender is...
Read moreService was good despite it being the waitresses 1st day and she was thrown in to the deep end. Sadly beyond the service there is not much to write home about. The pizza is decent but everything else we ordered missed the mark. We ordered the mac and cheese and after tasting it no one at the table including the kids wanted to eat it. Not too hard to make mac and cheese but they have to try and dress it up but in this case it was a failure. They also completely forgot to make one of the meals and when they finally brought it out not only was everyone else pretty much done eating but they made it wrong too. It should have come off the bill but they didn't remove it and the untrained waitress wasn't sure how to remove it when asked so we ended up paying for it so we could get back on the road. If you only want some pizza and a cold drink you might be ok here but there are definitely better...
