We visited this Chinese buffet on a weekday and found it to be a good option, especially considering the price. For a total bill of $53.29 for three adults and one child, it offered solid value for money. The buffet is located near a Walmart on the main road, which makes it convenient if you're in the area, though it is a bit of a drive from the Las Vegas Strip.

The restaurant itself is spacious and well laid out, making it comfortable even when busy. Service was quick, and food trays were consistently refilled, which we appreciated.

Food Highlights: There was a wide variety of options available, including:

Noodles, Orange Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, Fried Chicken, Chicken Wings, Fried Sushi, a variety of Sushi rolls, Spring Rolls, Crab Rangoon, French Fries, pizza, salad, Shrimp dishes, Fruits, Three types of soups, nice selection of desserts including vanilla ice cream cones

While we enjoyed the variety and consistent availability of food, there were a few drawbacks. Some food labels were missing, making it hard to identify certain dishes. The noodles were a bit too oily for our taste, and while the staff overall was fine, the owner came across as a bit unfriendly.

Pros: Spacious seating, Fast service, Wide selection of food, Constant food refills, Great value for the price

Cons: like other reviews I also found owner seemed somewhat rude, Missing food labels, Noodles were overly greasy, Not close to the Las Vegas Strip

Overall Rating: If you're nearby and looking for a filling meal with plenty of options, this buffet is definitely worth considering—especially for...

I use to go and eat at this place now and then since August 2018, but not for almost a year. My GF loves Chinese buffets so we went there for dinner.

I was disappointed that the place has gone down hill. The host sat us in a booth next to the kitchen which looked like it could use a deep clean. The same with the bathroom. Neither was very messy but just looked like they needed more attention to detail and perhaps a remodel. More disappointing was the food.

The selection of food was sparse. There were no dishes with beef (e.g., Mongolian Beef with Broccoli), nor any pork (e.g., Sweet & Sour Pork or BBQ Pork). They had a couple dishes of chicken and fried chicken wings. Some of the norms that can be expected at any Chinese buffets they had like prawns, shrimp, crab salad, muscles, and white fish fillets. Suprisingly they didn't have crab legs and oysters because they charged for dinner but only served traditional lunch dishes. It was also dispiriting to not find Suishi Rolls or Shashimi.

I have one more example of the neglect to food they're serving - - they had two slices of pizza left on the pizza tray. We spent close to an hour there and not once did they bring more pizza out. I waited until the end hoping for fresh pizza but it never came. I grabbed a slice and it was similar to the cheapest store bought...

A VERY NEGATIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE BY THE FEMALE OWNER.

Tuesday, March 25, 2025 4:10PM. My friend and I live near the area, so we frequent China Star Restaurant on W Charleston until today. We have decided never to return due to the female owner's insulting service. We arrived around 3:40 pm. for an early dinner. I had the sushi, salad, corn, and green beans. My friend had a variety. After half an hour, my friend decided to go for a refill. This is where we lost our appetites because of the owner's wife, she has a very insulting personality. When my friend went to get her 1st refill, their dinner menu changed. She picked up a couple of pieces of fried crab and a small portion of baby octopus salad. The unprofessional owner came to rudely tell us that if we plan to refill our plates. That she was going to charge us dinner price. I advised her that her approach was wrong. She said, "I do not care. People do it all the time." I told her that she was rude and insulting and told her to leave us. She kept talking. I lost my appetite then. Our waitress later came to apologize. But, the damage was done. I told our waitress to tell the owners that I am posting a VERY NEGATIVE REVIEW about the female owner. We tipped our waitress $7.50 on a $27.00 meal. Never...

Was charged before sitting down while everyone else was allowed to pay when they were done eating, they didn’t let my friends service dog in and we were told by the manager to leave him behind the building and were told she was not responsible If he was stolen from what we were able to understand at least and the bathroom was wrecked and from what we could see from the outside so was the ladies restroom also the manager was handling money and then putting the new batches of food under the hot lights without washing and she tried charging us extra after she saw we payed exact change and tried to say she thought it was for three people after she knew it was only for us too and when my friend went to go put the dog in front of the window where we were eating she tried to get us to get to go plates and she quickly wrote a sign that said maximum time limit 90 minutes when we came back in from doing so place is not hospitable to the less fortunate the food was okay…. god bless theirs soul and their family may the lord Jesus Christ forgive them for they do not know what they do.🙏🏿

Food quality has vastly improved in the last few years with several additions, including sushi buffet. Was previously mediocre, but now is our preferred Chinese buffet in the area. Price point has increased also, but the difference is definitely worth it. Other highlights include steamed clams, steamed bean sprouts, and salted crab. Dessert selection could be improved upon. We also like that the hot tea has been changed from green tea to oolong, which better suits the menu. Also, the happy euro-trance music they always play took some getting used to, but now I look forward to it when I come. 😆

This place was just two words Below Mediocre I would have said just mediocre if I hadn’t seen the other flaws. The Food was just ok. The service ok but it has improved especially on drinks way faster. However the main bad factors would be well one the Bathrooms Absolutely atrocious, the floor was dirty, and the food kind of left a bad aftertaste so that’s about all I have to say about this place. Edit: This place is now Very below mediocre I just got my fortune cookie and well look at the picture.
