If you're looking for a dining experience that feels like a high-stakes game of "What's Missing?" then Dragon Tiger Noodle Co. is your jackpot! The food here is so overhyped, it should come with a warning label that reads: "Caution: May cause existential crises." I mean, I've had more flavor in a bowl of plain oatmeal!
Let’s start with the good news: the broth. It's like a warm hug for your taste buds, if that hug was delivered by a slightly confused dragon who forgot to bring the spices. The broth is the only thing that might make you think, “Hey, this isn’t so bad!” But then, you remember the rest of the dish and suddenly it feels like you were just complimenting a magician’s top hat while ignoring the rabbit that’s clearly missing.
Now, the ambiance! Oh boy, the ambiance is great! It’s like stepping into a Pinterest board for hipster noodle lovers. The tables are cool, so cool in fact, I half-expected them to start playing an indie playlist. But here’s the catch: ambiance doesn’t fill your stomach, and neither does the rest of the food.
Speaking of things that don’t fill you (or make you feel good), let’s have a chat about the bathrooms. Imagine stepping into a portal to a dystopian future where cleanliness has been outlawed. The black toilets are a bold design choice, but they also act like a magnifying glass for every spec of pee left behind from the previous patron. It’s like the bathroom is saying, “Welcome to the jungle, hope you like surprises!”
And let’s not forget the “free dessert” offer if you show them a review! I can only assume this is their way of trying to bribe you into thinking the meal was worth it. Spoiler alert: it isn’t! Those positive reviews? More like “reviews for free dessert”
So, would I recommend Dragon Tiger Noodle Co.? Only if you’re looking to have a good laugh, a nice broth, and an unforgettable experience in a bathroom that might just become your next horror story. Bon appétit, if...
Read moreWow...I have no words. I have loved DragonTiger since they opened but today changed that. I went in and ordered a sumo bowl, as I had enough loyalty points for a free one. Ramen with tonkatsu broth and pork belly. I had enough loyalty points for the free sumo bowl. I also ordered the pork gyoza and the pork belly bao which I paid for.
This order was a to go order and the level of disappointment I feel right now is unreal. For starters the protein for my ramen was missing. Not sure how you forget to put the protein in like that, especially when it wasn't busy. Also they need to WASH THEIR VEGGIES! i had bok Choi in my ramen and there is nothing worst that a mouth full of dirt because the bok Choi wasn't cleaned correctly. Literally fendered my ramen. Inedible. The noodles were so stuck together they became a gelatinous mess. You couldn't get them apart to eat. They used to put a little oil in the bottom of the to goso the noodles wouldnt clump like that, apparently they don't do that anymore.
The gyoza were okay. They serve it with soy sauce as opposed to a dumpling sauce which is fine but the gyoza had no flavor other than cilantro.not good at all.
The BAO was good. That was the highlight.
I called and spoke with the manager and she offered to give me a refund for the gyoza but honestly 2/3 of my meal was not edible and she said she couldn't refund my points back even though they didn't give me a complete dish. I didn't get the points for the order I had today that I did pay for. I don't understand. Again...I used to love this place but after today I don't think I will go back. The owner Eric should be embarrassed at the quality of product his people...
Read moreBased upon the association with Chef Jet Tila, my wife wanted to try a Dragon Tiger Noodle location.
While the premise of selecting how your meal / bowl will be put together in several steps is a great idea, in our visit the execution fell short. Or maybe based upon the images on the Dragon Tiger Noodle website & posted within the restaurant, I set my expectations too high. In my opinion, I received a bowl of broth, with some noodles & a smattering of additional protein / vegetables / toppings. In appearance & quantity of ingredients, nothing close to what I was expecting.
My wife ordered the Dragon Wings. While my Dragon Noodle bowl was ready in less than five minutes, from the time we placed our order to the time her wings were ready was almost 15 minutes, so much for a shared dining experience. Recognize that although this was during the lunch time period, we were the only customers in the restaurant. In fact, no other customer entered until just as we were getting ready to leave, a period of 45 minutes in what should be a busy time of the day.
Again, based upon the ability to customize one’s order, Dragon Tiger Noodle should make for an enjoyable eating experience, with each table offering individual warmers to keep your meal piping hot. Had my bowl been closer in appearance to that presented in Dragon Tiger Noodle images & had the wings been prepared in a reasonable amount of time, I certainly would have rated this experience as a four if not five. However, based upon our experience & the lack of any customer presence, I really don’t see this location remaining open over...
