El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in Las Vegas

Absolutely the worst experience I've had in a "family" restaurant ever. Only one customer was here awaiting his order when I arrived. 4 people behind the counter & not one acknowledged me for a full 5 minutes until the one little girl who was supposed to be taking my order finally came to the register to take my order. I asked her how big the large chicken soup was. Could she show me the container. She looked around like a lost confused soul. I asked again could I see the large container so I could decide whether to choose large or small. She then told me it was 32 ounces but refused to get a sample so I could see the size. She said "I don't work here" !? Excuse me? She repeats "I don't work here, I work in another store, so I'm not allowed to go back there" to get the bowl (so I can see the size)

I decide to order large. I requested a side of broccoli. When I saw it ring up for $5.00 I asked in shock "$5.00 for a small broccoli!? " She said yes. I politely asked her to cancel the broccoli.

When the soup arrived, she put my tray at the front and went back to ignoring me. I had to call out to get her attention, so I could ask for some salsa and tortillas. She then told me that tortilla soup doesn't come with tortillas. For a "Mexican" restaurant this is sacrilege. I asked her how much to purchase tortillas for my soup. She said "it's like 40 cents, but here" and handed me some flour tortillas. Because I'm white. Racial stereotyping. I politely asked for corn tortillas instead. She gave me one plastic bag with two tortillas in it.

When I opened my soup, I searched and searched and swirled and searched and couldn't find any chicken. No chicken and no tortillas in chicken tortilla soup. Finally I found 2 very small scraps of white meat chicken in my soup like they got lost.

Absolutely NOT a restaurant I would waste any more money in: absolutely terrible customer service, total lack of consideration or any concept of what providing a pleasant meal experience is all about.

Never again. Terrible value for the money. Mediocre soup (I paid $8.00 for bullion with some queso cotija and cilantro on the side) Really...

What a terrible terrible place to eat. My boyfriend and I had recently order here through doordash and how awfully disappointed we were when the order arrived at the door. I hate being a karen but not only did they have our driver wait a very long time making our food cold and soggy , they also added ingredients we specifically asked not to add due to allergies, and they forgot our sides, churros, and drinks. My boyfriend is highly allergic to tomatoes and we specifically pressed the button to remove the salsa pico from the chicken avocado taco . We also had specifically asked for no salsa. Instead they gave us 4 salsas filled with tomatoes and tomatoes all over his tacos. The macaroni he ordered was mediocre at best and cold and had a weird flavor to it. He did not receive his drink or his chips nor did he receive his churros. My order was the Double Crunch Taquito Nachos and BOY WAS THIS THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER HAD. It was soggy and wet, barely any crunch. The taquitos were burnt and the chicken was dry, I only ate a bit of it and my stomach feels awful. I did not receive my sides, nor my two churros either and I also did not get my drink. Overall horrible experience, they did not even answer my calls to see what the issue was. Absolutely ridiculous is how I would define my experience with this restaurant. I’ve previously had a bad experience with the chicken from here ordered through DoorDash so I made my complaint on their app. So this time I went in to buy 3 orders of the shredded beef Birria and did also order $20 worth of chicken since it looked so good on the grill. Apparently my order of the Birria beef was the last of what was in stock because the next patrons wanted the same but was told that I bought the last. So after a 20 minute wait I finally got my order, went home and unwrapped the shredded beef Birria’s … I can’t believe I was served such garbage! Out of the 6 wraps NONE were Adequate. A few were burnt, all had little to no meat! 1 was heavy on the onions, all were heavy on the cilantro. The one stuffed full of onions had me so angry that I wanted to drive back to this location and make a “World Star” video with whoever thought that this was acceptable. My cooler head prevailed and that’s why I’m here now writing this review 2 weeks after my terrible experience with this location. So $30 wasted on that and the $20 I spent on chicken was a waste as well. I thought my DoorDash experience was a fluke but going inside ended in same result…. DRY OVER COOKED CHICKEN!
