Emiliano’s Taco Shop #2 arrived via UberEats like a mystery box from the universe labeled “Hope” and filled with culinary regret.
First clue something was off? I ordered plain cheesecake and got a slice of what I think was raspberry. Or cherry. Or the flavor of disappointment. It was fruity and wrong and kicked off the meal like an opening act no one asked for.
The hard tacos were less “crunchy fiesta” and more “sad tortilla with identity issues.” I genuinely think I could have made better tacos using a microwave, leftover rotisserie chicken, and sheer desperation.
The pineapple drink tasted like it had been filtered through someone’s childhood memory of what pineapple might be. Pretty sure it started life as powder in a pouch and then took a long bath in water until it forgot who it was.
The churro had potential. Then I reached the mystery cream in the middle and it all went downhill like a telenovela plot twist. Whatever that stuff was, it did not belong in polite society or dessert.
The bean and cheese burrito was... fine. Which, in this lineup, made it the standout performer. The beans were sort of there, like a background actor in a movie who’s just happy to be included.
I really wanted this place to be my new go-to taco joint. Instead, it felt like a group of well-meaning interns opened a Mexican restaurant after watching three cooking videos and calling it research. I’d rather risk Taco Bell again and I say that knowing full well Taco Bell once gave me mild trust issues.
TLDR: ⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2 stars) A delivery of dashed dreams and misplaced cheese. Proceed with low expectations and a...
Read moreCan Emilianos Taco Shop make Fish and Shrimp tacos? Yes they can. Had a taco de pescado and a taco de camarones, that's a fish taco and a shrimp taco to all you gringos out there. 😂 Using Los De Pescado in Cancun as the benchmark, these tacos are a solid 8.5. The corn tortillas weren't what you usually get in Vegas. They were soft and tasty adding to the flavor of the meal. The shrimp were tender and so was the fish. The cabbage was fresh. Just a little heavy on the chipotle sauce but no big thing. Very tasty. Surprisingly no limes were offered. Washed it all down with a Mexican Coke. Easily the best tacos I have ever had in Las Vegas. Much better than the tacos I have had at Robertos, Lindo Michoacan, Doña Marias Tamales. Not anyone can make a good fish taco. Will definitely go back to try other items...
Read moreThis place is great. I used to go to habaneros on rainbow and Washington but stopped going there because they were so cheap on giving out salsas. You would think a place called habaneros would give out habanero salsa, but they stopped doing that weeks ago. Emilianos has habanero salsa and they always ask how many you would like. They're very generous. And their food? Dont get me started. HUGE portions. Freshly cooked. This place is my new mexican restaurant to go to. I've gone here 5 times and it gets better each time. Whoever owns this place, just know, you guys are doing an awesome job! Keep up...
