It's coffee. Sweet sweet delicious nectar of the gods coffee. It's much like any substance that can be habit forming and/or addictive; you try it, maybe because your friends are doing it, and you don't want to be the odd person out. Then you're not quite sure if you really LIKE it, but you might, so you give it another go. Eventually it becomes part of your routine. It is engrained in your every day life. You don't quite realize how much you need it or crave it until you can't have it and then it hits you like some sad existential crisis that 45 year old men experience and then have to go get some hot younger person half their age. Sometimes you just want to feel alive, ya know? But then that day hits where the stars don't line up and you can't get this cup-o-deliciousness and it hit you. Hard. Some people try alternatives, but it's not the same. Nothing can ever really replace the rush of chemicals in your brain that tells your body you're happy like this single cup of dark magic. You make promises, beg, plead, shake your hands at the heavens but you can't get that cup. You realize this isn't who you thought you were going to be when you were young and fresh out of school. You'd seen other people burn out like this and you told your younger self "never". But here you are, willing to rummage through the trash in the hopes that some poor shmuck didn't finish the gift that the gods had bestowed upon him. Then you've hit rock bottom. You push yourself away, you're off the junk and you're gonna get yourself clean. Cold turkey. And you succeed! At first it's rough, your friends hold you at arm's length because they've been hurt by how far you've gone, and they want the best but prepare for the worst. One day though, the sun seems brighter, and the sky bluer. You've broken yourself free. And then the lady next to you says "Thank you for choosing Starbucks, what can I get for you today?" And you realize you were never free. Not really. So...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy son and I stopped in to have a green tea and mocha capationo boy was that a mistake. We ordered and had to wait for our order becauce this Starbucks only has one employee. While waiting we started to look around and noticed how dirty the place was. All tables had trash and coffee stains. I don't think they own a broom or a mop. Trash cans were completely full so much trash was all over the floor. This makes me so sad because Starbucks has a reputation of being an upscale coffee shop that is normally really clean but this Starbucks in Target located on Decatur and 215 was disgusting. I will not be coming back. So...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWalked up to the counter, there were two employees. One was making a drink and the other was obviously checking out for the day. Neither even acknowledged us. The one checking out was literally standing at the register directly in front of us. We stood there for 3 mins and were never spoken too or even looked at. I knew the time because I noticed it when I pulled my Starbucks app up it was 2:57pm. Shocked at how the only concern the red head had was splitting the tips they had made instead of a "hey we will be right with you". Not one word was said so we left and will...
