Monday 11/25/24 is the day of my visit, my daughterās birthday !!!!! First, Iād like to give all props to our entertaining hibachi chef. Heās a little too much for kids in my opinion though. Food was mediocre but I have yet to have outstanding food from any hibachi restaurant, so thereās that. My complaint is with service. The guy with the glasses, think heās management š¤¦š¾āāļø This guy brought my daughterās cake out and had to put candles atop at the table š that was to be done before arriving to the table. In addition, thereās a very rude waitress with a bob haircut that doesnāt understand whatās being said to her and or sheās become jaded in the business. Could be a race thing. Who knows, who cares!! I asked her, did the happy hour drinks contain RAIL spirits. This little girl responds, āof course itās REAL alcohol, LOOK!ā As shes pointing to the bar in the most irritated manor. If I was in this establishment for anything other than my kid, issues would have arose in that moment. Moving on.. I needed her to take one hibachi dinner off my bill, it was being paid for by my guest, so I actually showed her what that was, finger to paper, since I see her tone and attitude are keeping her from her best self. This child separates the two happy hour drinks from the bill, and proceeds to say in an exaggerated, louder than needed tone, āWHOS GOING TO PAY FOR THIS?ā Brings all attention to us in a crowed restaurant. I make it my business to show respect to others especially when I have children around. We are their example so this is a time I had to completely ignore my disgust so I could show my child you donāt have to respond to people and their personal issues. My daughter enjoyed herself so thatās really all that counts. If you donāt mind mediocre food and service, this is your spot. If you like pleasant servers and amazing sushi, Fuji in Gambrills is your spot. They do hibachi too if thatās what you want. I will NEVER do Kabu again. The experience tested my patience on a completely different level. I come with good vibes and money but get so so service!!! Unacceptable! The 18% mandatory gratuity is absurd. My server didnāt deserve any of that. Never again. Iām truly disgusted and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually donāt leave negative reviews unless I absolutely have to, but this particular experience was completely disappointing. we dined at Kabu for my dads birthday and we were ignored the entire time. We had a reservation set for 8:30pm. We sat down at around 8:40pm and only after I asked for a manager, our chef wheeled out at 9:25pm. When the manager came to the table, he gave a backhanded apology and told us that a table that was sat after us had their ticket submitted first. I explained how we had been sitting for over 45 mins and that it was my dadās birthday. He then proceeded to tell me āwell what do you want me to do?ā & said āyour dad seems fine, letās let him enjoy the dinner and talk about it laterā. I was completely floored at his response as he offered nothing to remediate the situation. Our food was rushed Iām assuming because it was close to closing time and was severely under seasoned. Our waitress was also very short and abrupt. She never came to check on the table and give refills and was hesitant to get the manager when I asked. The manager did not once come back to check on my table after the issue and did not offer anything for the inconvenience. His demeanor was condescending and dismissive. It completely turned me off to the entire restaurant and the staff. Very underwhelming. We spent over $500 not including gratuity. I try not to attribute things to race, but seeing as 18% gratuity was already included, I can only assume this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy daughter surprised her Dad for his birthday (6/9) and was ecstatic to come here since she loves sushi and he, hibachi. We've never been here before, because always drives pass it so this was something she had planned for over a month. We arrived at the restaurant at 2:10pm, but was denied seating at the grills for the hibachi experience since they closed at 2:30pm and reopened at 4pm. We were then seated at a table and offered the same food from the grills, but stated that it would be cooked in the kitchen. My daughter ordered the three option sushi as well as the pan seared squid. She said it was absolutely phenomenal and fresh so we were happy! Her Dad and I chose hibachi from the kitchen of course and we definitely regretted it. There was soooo much soy sauce on the food that we could not enjoy it. When this was expressed to though waitress, she offered us a bowl to empty the excess liquids into and the food was so bland. When leaving out, we noticed that people who came in the restaurant after us we're sitting at the grills so of course something was said to staff. No one could give us any answers as to why we were given a table. I honestly felt like it was a waste of time and money and needless to say, we don't see ourselves coming back here. My daughter was upset since her Dad didn't enjoy the food, but the...
