I do not recommend this location, whatsoever. I have never, ever had someone make me feel like trash the way this locations manager (woman, brown hair, glasses) did to me on 6/8/24. It was 90°+ out, we were right next to this location so we decided to just go through the drive thru and asked for 2 ice waters. I have never been charged for an ice water, in my life from a McDonald's. I get one at least 2x a week from either the Clearfield, Hillfield Rd or Main Street locations. So when we ordered at the speaker the worker didn't give us a total nor did it get put on the screen. Told us to pull through. We pulled through and the first window girl confirmed we were the car who ordered 2 ice waters, we said yes. She then said okay and turned away from us. We proceeded to the next window as we usually do when we order just a water. We get to the second window and then about 10 seconds later we are greeted by 3 people staring at us and a manager rudely saying "Are you the ones who ordered the waters?". We confirmed we were, then she very harshly stated how "you can't just not pay for the things you ordered" and demanded our card. We were both shocked to what was just said to us. I confirmed that all we did was order water and I have never been charged for an iced water before. She reiterated that it indeed costed money and as we handed over our card I let her know that those other 3 locations I frequent have never charged me and that this was very shocking and weird especially the way she approached it as if we were some type of thieves. We were charged $2.17 for the 2 waters, might as well of just ordered a couple of sodas at that point. This review is not about the money but the principle of how you treat others and run your establishment. Every McDonald's needs to be charging for Ice Waters if that is indeed a thing they are supposed to be doing, not just picking and choosing if or who they decide to be charging. Also a tip of advice for next time, maybe make sure your order takers are stating "It'll be $._ at the first window" or at least let it be showing on the screen instead of saying we will see you at the window. And maybe don't treat your guests like dirt if there is an innocent mistake/miscommunication. I will forever & always avoid this location because of the lasting bad taste they have left in my mouth. Good luck to you all and I hope your staff gets better training on how to handle things...
Read moreI wanted to let you know of my experience at the Layton McDonalds on Fairfield and Gentile on 8/22/19.
I stopped by on my way home to get me something to eat. It was about 8:00 PM. I couldn't figure out the machine or find what I wanted so I went to the counter to order. After a few minutes an employee came over to take my order. I ordered a #9, not a large order. I even filled my own drink. I was given a number on my receipt.
Other people came in to order. One ordered from the machine, the other one stood at the counter for longer than I did. There were plenty of employees walking by the counter but none stopped to take her order.
I watched the screen above the counter for my number to come up. Mind you - this process has already taken me 15 min. My number came up on the screen so I walked up to get my order but no order was given to me. While I was standing there the two people who ordered after I did got their orders and left. At that time I asked if my order was really not ready yet. The employee said that they were hurrying as fast as they could to get orders out. I said, "Yes, but I ordered before the two people who just got their order and left". Then she went looking for it, asked me what I ordered and had to pull it together, in which one of my hamburgers was different from the other, so I'm pretty sure I got someone else's burger. Not to mention - and maybe this is the way you make burgers now, but there was no catsup or any kind of sauce on either burger. I had to go home and put my own catsup on my burgers. Even though I was told the employees were hurrying as fast as they could, none of them seemed to be too concerned with getting the orders out inside - maybe their rush was to get the drive up orders out first.
Total time trying to get "Fast"' food - 20 min. I must say - I am no longer a fan of that McDonalds. I could have driven the extra few miles and gone to Wendy's in Kaysville and gotten my food about 10 times faster, which is probably what I will do next time. I don't enjoy going to get fast food that isn't fast.
I know if I never go back to that McDonalds that you will never know. People will still support that McDonalds, but I am probably not going to be the only one who...
Read moreI don’t like posting a bad review but this McDonald’s has serious customer service issues, food accuracy issues, food wait time, and even the app apparently has issues! I recently used the app to place an order and then picked it up at the drive through. When I checked out on the app the total showed $4.44 and then I was emailed a receipt which showed I had been charged $7.04. I called the restaurant manager to get this corrected and was told that I would need to get a bank statement and bring that in to get the charge taken care of. Like I (or anyone these days) have time to waste to print out my statement and bring it over to the store for a $2.60 refund. In my mind that sends the message that a couple of dollars is worth far more to the management than their customers satisfaction. Because I am a person of principle I sent a complaint via the McDonalds app and still have not been taken care of. I needed to waste some more of my time after my complaint at their request to call them and give them the phone model I used along with the software version and the McDonald’s app software version only to be told that someone else would contact me. What a joke!!! If they cared about my business they would not only have immediately refunded my $2.60 they would have refunded the whole meal and given me a little something in the way of a coupon or food to help try and wipe the bad experience from my mind so that I would have a good feeling about that location and McDonald’s as a whole. Very disappointed with this Layton location and McDonalds protocol to resolve simple customer service issues. I have since been contacted by the manager and have been comped a full combo meal of my choice by corporate and another by the local Layton manager. While this was a very nice gesture, a quick response and resolution could have avoided my poor review that I have changed from one star to three. Mistakes will invariably happen, please allow your people the ability or power to resolve...
