What I like about this place is that they are not chintzy. They are generous with their servings! It wasn’t immediately apparent from the overhead menus, but 1.) Their pasta dishes - comedically and nostalgically called “Suppa Time” - are served with homemade bread. In these current days, any bread served for free actually matters. But this bread is homemade. 2.) Their salads also come with homemade bread. 3.) All burgers, sandwiches, subs and wraps are served with chips. You can also upgrade to other sides. 4.) You can get not one but two sizes of calzones. 5.) You can also get two sizes of apps and sides: small and large sizes of wings, french fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings and homemade bread.
You can choose from 9 types of salads here and 24 pizzas, not including the make-your-own pizzas. I’d love to try most all of the combinations as they look high quality and tasty. As for the calzones and strombolis, I always thought they were the same. Apparently, calzones are circular and crimped like empanadas. Strombolis are rectangular. Both are filled with toppings and cheese.
Another thing I was never aware of: Buffalo mozzarella is actually made from Buffalo milk and that is the type of mozzarella they use in their pizzas here. As a foodie, I really always thought Buffalo mozzarella was named as such because it was a big ball of cheese. But it is actually Buffalo milk which they say makes the pizza more creamy. I did not notice a difference but did enjoy my slices.
Cantore’s Pizza has been under new ownership since Jan 2024. I enjoyed the pizza and good selection of beers and drafts. The slices combo I ate was good. I loved that it was a family atmosphere and people were friendly and festive. I love that you can sit up at the tiny bar and have a draft but shorter patrons, take note: these bar...
Read moreCantore's is (was?) Our go-to pizza place, but we had a really disappointing experience on a Sunday night. We live 3 miles away in downtown White River Junction, and delivery has always been predictable in the past. Tonight we were told 45 minutes, but the pizza took 1 hour and 52 minutes. It was straight-up cold, not surprisingly. We called at the 1 hour 15 minute mark and the 1 hour 45 minute mark. Both times we were told the pizza was out for delivery. We've always had very friendly encounters with the phone staff and drivers, and tonight was not different. But if you're short on drivers or slammed don't sell me 45 minutes when it's 2 hours. The manager was very apologetic. Normally a late pizza wouldn't big a big deal, bit tonight was out first night out to dinner since our son was born 6 months ago. Frequent texts from the babysitter about no pizza, made for a horrible evening all around. Can't say if we'll be ordering again from Cantore's anytime soon. 4 stars, because pizza and service have been good...
Read moreFirstly, I love your food and I have frequently dined here. I have ordered delivery services online to both White River Junction, VT and also in Norwich, VT. I tried to order delivery today to Norwich, as I was going to be busy all afternoon and could not leave my place of work. I was told that you do not deliver further than Wilder, which is ridiculous, because we are right next to Wilder. I am literally 12 -15 minutes from you. Jump on 89 and then 91 and we are right there. I understand if I was 30 minutes or more away, but I am not. I always treat my delivery drivers well and I am disappointed that they will not be receiving their well deserved money any longer. If you have a change of heart, I would be delighted to continue my business with you. Otherwise, I will take my business elsewhere. You should update and/or post your delivery "guidelines" on...
