Newbury Comics — Local services in Lebanon

Me my wife and daughter had gone to Newbury Comics to shop around after everything had been closed for such a long time. We brought our three-year-old with us naturally. All of us had masks on and we're practicing social distancing. The moment we walked into that store we were being stared at whispered about and treated like we weren't supposed to be there. As my wife walk around with my daughter in the clothes section I was looking at the comic books and Records. My wife then comes to me and tells me that a girl had been following her around the store. When my wife recognize that she was doing it she headed back to the front desk and my wife followed. Just to hear them comment "they brought a kid with them". When my wife told me not only did it make me feel unwelcome it felt discriminatory for bringing a child into their establishment. Are children and parents not allowed to shop in the cool hip Newbury Comics? Or does the coronavirus immediately not allow you to enter a building with children? Either way there's no excuse for that. I can say definitively I will not be spending my money or time in a Newbury Comics ever again. We went next door to Bam which had everything for cheaper and with an extremely polite salesman. All I can say is you guys should be ashamed of yourself. Pick Your poison, the website and the store list items at different prices, in order to actually save substantial money, You have to order online after comparing prices in store; the store has some items CHEAPER than the website and they charge shipping! When I confronted the store worker, the excuse was "We're different entities." Well, I don't think driving almost 2 hours to find out I'm getting screwed is close to fair. I won't be back, I paid twice the price for a Pop and shipping only to find that SAME POP in store FOR HALF THE PRICE!! I had the pop in the car and wanted to return it but they WOULDN'T, even knowing what I explained that I paid TWICE the price and shipping, I was expecting them to at least allow me the difference and I'd still eat the shipping, but no, they don't care that the store I shop at was the same inventory shipped it, because that was the place I ordered from. They have a lot of stuff, but it's stuff that can be found at other places for reasonable prices without having to travel almost 2 hours. My wallet is now in counseling from its violation, thanks for leaving a sour taste...

Newbury Comics - West Lebanon is a decent independent comic book and record store. They carry decent comic books, trade paperback, graphic novels, CD's, vinyl, DVD's, blu-rays and memorabilia.
