So we ordered some cookies tonight for curbside pickup at 5:39. The website told us they would be available immediately, so we left and headed over. When we got there at 6:03, I replied to the text message to let them know we were there. The crowd outside was pretty big, so we congratulated ourselves on ordering curbside.
We waited about twenty five minutes, when the car next to us (who had been here before us) got their curbside order. In about ten more minutes, someone came around with a tablet and a sheet of paper. She took our name, and said their app used for curbside pickup wasn't working, and they didn't get notified we were there. We waited another fifteen minutes, and then I went inside. I asked them where our order was, and watched as the person behind the counter swiped through the orders, and found us 6-7 down from the top. They said they would expedite.
About a minute later, someone came out and let us know they were out of chilled sugar cookies. Apparently the fridge that stored the dough had broken, and they had all spoiled. So we took other flavors instead. A couple minutes later, we finally had our cookies at 7:04 (the text messages when we got there and left were helpful for time stamps!). The staff was very apologetic. It took just over an hour to get them.
As we drove off, my wife looked in the cookie boxes, and discovered they had gotten our order wrong, and given us at least one wrong cookie. At this point, I shrugged my shoulders. I wasn't interested in going back.
Now, why two stars? My kids said the cookies were great.
On the strength of the cookies, we will probably try again, but we're going to wait several months and let them work out the opening kinks. It was not a good experience this evening, and I can't recommend it...
Read moreLast Saturday, a taller, Asian young lady was working the register/preparing orders. While my friend and I waited on our orders, the couple behind us ordered theirs and paid in cash. After the the young lady behind the counter completed their order. Instead of changing her gloves after handling money, she went straight back to finishing up our order. She brought over my box, and in true Crumbl fashion showing me my order, she asked me if everything looked ok…I leaned over the counter and quietly told her she should probably change gloves after handling dirty money and then touching food (used gloved hands for crushed cookie dust topping on my cookies) . She acknowledges me with a nod and “ok” so I assumed she was going to do as suggested. I should’ve asked for a new order but the place was super busy and I didn’t want to cause a scene or embarrass her. As we took our order and left out the door. She turned around and took a couple steps towards the back to speak to another coworker. We thought for SURE she would’ve changed her gloves but we never stopped watching her from the sidewalk and then from my car and our gut told us…. she NEVER changed her gloves, she continued on helping customers and touching other's cookie orders. One would think the practice of glove changing would be common sense but sadly what we witnessed was pure laziness and a complete disregard for customers safety AND disrespect, especially after a customer brings it to your attention in the first place. This is absolutely unacceptable during not only flu season but also now that we have COVID floating around. Surely, Crumbl, money handling/gloving/glove changing is part of your new hire orientation! This young lady clearly needs some...
Read moreSome good options but overall a disappointing selection and lackluster appearance. The Mom’s cookie was the best with the salt on top, followed by the chocolate chip. The chocolate cake had no resemblance and cake other than the icing. The pink velvet was a flavorless, lousy cookie. The lemon needed more glaze and could have benefited from some zest in it. The lemon slice, poor garnish choice, whose going to eat that. A piece of candied lemon peel would have been better. The shortbread with icing was far from a sugar cookie. Needed a little crunch, it was low on flavor and a garnish besides icing which I thought was to much. My wife likened it to a spritzer cookie in its texture.
Though wide cookies, doesn’t necessarily mean better especially when you’re trying to accentuate the oozing of chocolate chips. A little thicker could have brought that home.
I think 6 cookies a week is not enough of a choice. I noticed the ice cream didn’t seem available as the sign was not lighted. I didn’t see but coffee or hot frothed milk would be great options.
One other thing, is there a way to get the cookies at room temperature, they fell apart very easily. Impossible to eat while driving.
I do look forward to seeing new options to kick it up a notch. It would be great to see the rotation so I could plan my visits accordingly.
Great luck to your endeavor, I’ll be back to see what’s on the menu in the coming weeks.
One other thought, did Crumble go around the area to see what their competition was offering? The other good...
