Disappointing An attractive café with a pleasant sidewalk dining area, but sadly, erratic food quality and unpleasant, excruciatingly slow service. My omelette was fine and reasonably priced, but it took 45 minutes to arrive. My coffee was so weak that I decided to swap it (paying a surcharge) for a café latté. Standing in line to order (done at the cash) I noticed that the owner was going along the line helping people behind me who were waiting. When I asked if she might take my order, she snapped at me to do that at the cash. Her instruction was not unreasonable, but her rudeness (toward me and a couple of other customers who needed help) was a little shocking. The service was quite disorganized. People who arrived earlier than us were served later. People who arrived long after us were served 25 minutes earlier. Diners around us received meals with no utensils or napkins. I’d love to return to this attractive spot, but not under this management. The $2 restroom fee for non-customers offers a sample of the owners’ approach to dealing...
Read moreObnoxious service. Paid to eat and was waiting and waiting. They kept on attending to others. When I inquired about my order, saw my tea in a dirty tea cup, and was sitting there getting cold and not served.
When I inquired, the owner, a female started resorting to foul language and excuses on short on staff.
Well they were serving all others. They charged me and was not bringing the sandwich.
Another guest who was witnessing the drama commented on her coffee's temperature. She was already seated sipping on bad coffee. Rather than accommodating, the owner asked the patrons to get out of her cafe.
Taking money from patrons and not providing services is unethical. I was charged $16.75. And she returned my $16 upon my insistence.
Will never give business to this poor customer service and unethical business.
Perhaps the cafe should have stayed closed if the owner was having a bad day. It is usually seasonal. Never get food from from restaurants with...
Read moreI gave this place one star: 1/2 for the great location for a coffee outside, 1/2 for the amazing pastries. Never had a crepe so I'm not commenting on that. Stops there. There is no grill here so this is a typical Bodega set-up from New York City so if you order anything with eggs they just stick it in the microwave. 2) I ordered one of their salads looking forward to it. It was called "Chef's Recommendation". Only the white parts of romaine, cardboard tomatoes, two or three slivers of white onion, one egg. Lemon dressing. Yay. I asked for balsamic vinegar she completely forgot. $12. Um...
At Choppt eg. in the City eg. you can get an epic salad for that price, all fresh ingredients, and it's so much that you can eat it in 2 days so it's really two salads in one.
Typical rip-off joint where they buy absolutely the s*ist stuff next door and sell it for what they know people will pay for.
Just sit and have a nice coffee in the sun to ppl watch,...
