During our stay in New Hampshire, we found a very popular breakfast place with high reviews. We decided to check them out early in a morning. I heard that they get long lines quickly, so we went over there right when they opened at 7am.
Since we arrived when they opened for business, there was no wait, and it was almost empty. There were a few customers who beat us to it, which was even more surprising. I guess they open up a few minutes before 7am, if they got everything ready to go for the day early.
They had good amount of seating, but I guess not enough for the amount of customers who wants to have breakfast here... An interesting part of their interior was that they had miniature landmarks from all over the country, such as the White House, Empire State Building, and the Statue of Liberty. It was fun to look at them. There was a toy train that went by every 30 min or so right below it, which was fun.
We did not see any sign for any special menu, so we asked our waiter if there is anything special for the day. He quickly told us what they were, and we decided to order from that. It was interesting that he didn’t tell us that there is a special menu of the day, until we asked about it. He was moving at a mile a minute, even thought it was not busy at all at this point… It was painful just to get his attention for a second for a refill on water or coffee.
Anyways, we chose Banana Pancake and Salmon Benedict off their special menu of the day. The pancakes were a good size, fluffy and tasty, but nothing special. Salmon Benedict came with less salmon than I expected… I heard great thing about their home fries, so I was looking forward to trying them. They were good, but too salty. With much less salt, it would have been perfect. With the benedict already being salty, it was too overwhelmingly salty as a whole.
The service was like a race of some kind, the servers moving super fast, making it difficult to get their attention. We felt very rushed from the beginning to the end. Even though we didn’t come out saying “wow!” to any dishes, but we were glad to try this spot out. I don’t know why this place is so popular, but maybe the limited restaurant options, and even more limited breakfast option available around here have something to do with it? My boyfriend and I were in town for a week on vacation, and breakfast is our “thing”. We love trying new breakfast spots!
After hitting a couple of the other places around, Flapjack’s was open on Thursday. (Closed a couple days a week so check their website)
We sat right away, at clearly handmade tables and chairs (love it) and this place has such a charming Northern NH feel to it! SUPER CLEAN! There’s a little train track around the top of the room & a train goes around every so often! Cute!
The first day we went, breakfast was DELICIOUS & our server was so sweet and welcoming. Excellent service Donna!!!
We loved it so much we came back again the next day. Different server this time, Ryan was equally as excellent! And as I pay attention a lot, (I am in the industry- I can’t help it) the other server was taking great care of his guests as well.
Everything we had was 10/10 delicious, and QUICK! (French toast, scrambled eggs, home fries, pancakes, bacon, and NH maple syrup at every table!) I know not a lot of people are crazy about beans with their breakfast, but I love them. And these were HANDS DOWN, the best house-made vegetarian beans I have ever put in my mouth. SO GOOD- breakfast heaven.
I look forward to coming back every time we go snowboarding at Loon and any time we are in the area. GREAT JOB FLAPJACKS!!!!

Read moreWe were looking for a good breakfast destination on July summer weekend. There are limited options in Lincoln, NH and Flapjacks has solid reviews.
We were able to grab a parking spot in the municipal parking lot across the street from the restaurant. There are only three parking spots in front of the restaurant so across the street is a good option.
The bear décor was a lot of fun. For the kids, they have a toy train with a collection of miniatures of different buildings from around the world. We saw the toy train go around the restaurant on a thirty minute interval.
This restaurant seems to be known for a long wait times but we arrived when they opened at 7 am so we had no wait time at all. When we left around 8 am, there was a larger line out the door.
Definitely ask about the specials, we ordered two of the specials. It is called the flapjack house so we had the banana pancakes. The pancakes were fluffy and very tasty. The second item, we ordered, was the salmon Benedict. I liked the salty flavor and the home fries were very tasty. We also had Victor Coffee with free refills for $2.25. It was your standard diner coffee. Don’t miss the “real” maple syrup on the table. It goes very well with all of their flapjacks.
The overall experience went very well. It definitely feels rushed but there are limited options in Lincoln, NH. If we are back in Lincoln, we will try...
