This restaurant is not a traditional American type steakhouse. It serves a variety of meats, fish, and even fruits and vegetables, which are all ultimately prepared in a rotisserie grill. New patrons are occasionally surprised to find you don't order a particular dish; here you order the Rodizio. This is an experience that allows you to eat as much as you want of every dish available on the grill.
The foods come to your table brought by gauchos who carry one dish each at a time on a skewer and platter. They approached your table and ask you if you would like whatever particular food they have with them, and then take as much or as little as you want. Depending on how busy the restaurant is, sometimes you might need to wait a while till your favorite dish comes back around, but it is a unique approach to dining.
The food here is generally very good. There are a couple dishes that are excellent. In addition to the Rodizio you can add an all-you-can-eat salad bar. This is offered as a solo option as well. The salad bar is very high quality with a variety of dishes. By word-of-mouth my understanding is a significant minority of customers only order the salad bar. Having had the salad bar many times I can attest if you go that route you will have plenty of food to eat.
At my last visit, the food was not as high quality as I had become accustomed. I visited early during open hours, however, which I think may be a contributing factor. I suggest going after 6 or 7. This restaurant is actually best when it's somewhat busy, because all the food is extremely freshly prepared. I suspect my last visit some of the dishes had been under a warmer a little too long.
The Rodizio has some dishes all the time, but other dishes are served only occasionally. For example, they recently had wild game added temporarily. A quick call to the restaurant and they'll let you know what special foods they might be serving. While there are vegetarian selections, the restaurant is definitely for meat eaters. Please don't go if you are vegetarian or vegan; your reviews unfairly impact a business which was never meant for you.
This is one of my favorite restaurants, but I can't afford to eat here very often. It is a little pricey, but fairly priced for quality of food, the great customer service, and the experience. Depending on alcohol, with tip, the full Rodizio for a couple on a date would probably be around $100 for the dinner.
In my opinion, this is not a good restaurant for children, only because the format makes for longer meals, and children will become full and bored. But I have taken my children and all of them enjoyed it. They especially liked that they can take little pieces of each dish as it's brought around. Adolescents wouldn't have any problem (other than the ones they already have), especially if they have their phones with them for times during which there might...
Read moreThis restaurant is really tough to review because my tastes might be affected by post covid taste sensation and my ignorance of Brazilian cuisine.
I didn't like a lot of it - but I wouldn't like authentic Chinese food, and I haven't liked most authentic Mexican food. But I LOVE many Americanized versions of both of those!
This could be my post Covid palate, but almost everything at the salad bar was extremely bland -I know from travel experience that south of Mexico, food can be extremely bland.
I stuck to beef and chicken. Neither my wife or I liked the sausage, but we did like a lot of the meat we tried (beef and chicken). The Parmesan beef, and sweet and spicy chicken were very good.
The service and staff were excellent! However, I wasn't impressed that on the receipt there is a small list for suggested gratuity that starts out at 20%.
No.
You took my drink order, and Gauchos brought around meat to serve -yes those are 'waiters.'
My sister's were waitresses, none of this rises to their skill level that commanded a 13% minimum tip.
Also, Lincoln, I'd like to tell you I hate this city because of its drivers and entitled people. But I'd also like to add how class-less people are here where they wear jammies and sweats (dudes I'm actually talking to you), and blown out jeans to a 35$ a plate restaurant.
The host had a lot of class and was able to speak Spanish to the non-english speaking girlfriend of the diamond studded faced thug, wearing a playboy stocking cap, not understanding what reservations were.
The food didn't taste very good but it was such a great environment that maybe my tastes had a bit to do with it.
Sadly, this restaurant just doesn't belong in Lincoln, just like me.
I literally go to work 1.5 hours early because I hate the tardy drivers here.
Welcome to "The Suck," Rodizio. Maybe you are better than this place. Maybe not.
Americanize your food by dousing it with salt, pepper, garlic, and cheese.
Toss out the tardies wearing sweats, knit caps, yoga pants, etc......can't stop.
Yeah, you didn't really have a...
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about this place. I've been going here for years, usually 6 to 8 times a year. Not to mention, I drive from Omaha to eat here and I can't believe that somehow I've missed reviewing this restaurant on Google, but here it goes! The quality of food here is amazing. They have an awesome salad bar with rotating options, including hot and cold. My son usually prefers to go for brunch, because they add eggs and bacon to the salad bar. However, the best part is the full rodizio. The gauchos bring skewers and meat table side and you take as much or as little as you want. They're always accommodating when I want more of something, or when one of my kids wants a more well done piece of the steaks, for example. The host staff and gouchos are friendly and the management is awesome (very responsive on Facebook too). A full rodizio dinner is $29.99, but that includes the salad bar and all the meat options (unlimited meats!). You also have to try the glazed pineapple! There are other Brazilian steakhouses, however none that I'm aware of near Lincoln. In addition, those steak houses generally cost $50 or more per person and have similar or worse quality than Rodizio. In addition, they have rotating promotions several months throughout the year, such as wild game month, Rodizio on fire, etc. These rotate in some items that you can only get once a year. If you're not sure, you can sometimes find a Groupon to try it out. Those usually also come with dessert and/or wine, which are also great. They also routinely run a Black Friday special where you can get $100 in discount vouchers when you buy $100 gift card. I buy it every year and the gift card never seems to last long for me, and hopefully when you try Rodizio Grill, you'll find a new place you love too!
Update: After several years, Rodizio continues to improve and is still a...
