I wasn't really impressed with my first time at Camp Taco. And circled the block once to figure out where to park. There's a huge outdoor space for seating but I feel like that area and the parking would be better if swapped. I made plans to visit specifically on this day to explore the restaurant during it's advertised; "Camp'toberfest" event. Curious about the "YODLE-LE-YUM! Feast on Camp twists on some Bavarian food faves from our culinary team." I couldn't find any hint of what that would be online but was excited to see a small paper advertising the $12 big brats in a blanket. Only to find out that those weren't available until much later (up to two hours into service). A little disappointing for "an all day event." I will give praise to my server, Marshall offered some good recommendations and took care to check with the kitchen on onion content after I explained I was allergic. After a short wait he came to tell me that two of the three sides I ordered had onions and offered a second helping of the rice, the only alternative being some taco sauce. The camp rice was enjoyable, but after one helping I opted to save the second one to go. Marshall's suggestion; the Pollo Frito was a very nice part of the experience. The sauce had a nice zip to add to the tender and moist fried chicken, and the tortillas held everything in like a good hug. I do question the price of the meal though. $13 is a bit steep for something I could find at a taco truck at half the price. Still, it landed well on an empty stomach. I feel like there are a lot of things that could be improved upon. As this event seemed to be a big deal, I just felt like it was scheduled, but not actually worked on until *maybe* that morning. The hats were cute, and the polka was bouncy. But I just couldn't help but feel like it was less fest, and more.... gimmicky. Here's hoping a second visit will merit an update/edit from me in the future.

If you've ever seen a horror movie where there's a fat kid at a summer camp that trips embarrassingly over a twig, and gets taken out by the masked serial killer, then you'll understand when I tell you that I would be that fat kid. Especially after having eaten at Camp Taco. The food is always good, so you know I would be too heavy from rightfully gorging myself on all of it to get away from even the slowest of murderers. I've had the Shrooms and Sauce Birria Tacos, the Strange Trip Cheez(ish) Dip, Hot Potatoes, and Veggie Style Mexican Ramen. They've all been gnarled finger licking good pretty much everytime. The camp theme is fun, and the staff is very friendly. My waiter helped make sure everything was vegan, as my condition of righteously putting up or shutting up doesn't allow me to stray from sexy and very sculpted path šŸ˜ž Some say being so modestly right is it's own reward, and those heroes would be right. I like the decor, and really the only drawback is that there is so much of it, I feel it could all use a top to bottom dusting. I haven't been back in about a month but the last time I was there, there was a decent bit of visibile dust on the lights. It wasn't disgusting and you can't expect perfection when you're eating out, but it never hurts to high dust some lights and wipe down the bottom of chairs while you're popping a couple squats in the dining room. We all should be doing more of that.

Yesterday was the first time we had visited this establishment. I can honestly say it was our last time. We were there to celebrate a relative's birthday. There was 10 adults and 4 kids. The young lady who serviced us was nice, respectful, & polite. You would think that there could've been no way we would've gotten sucky service, but we did. It's took 35, if not more minutes just to get drinks. The waitress, stopped showing up to our table. She was busy and didn't seem to have any help. We came to that conclusion by looking around, and seeing how busy her section was. So we gave her grace. It probably took an hour and a half, if not two hours for our food to come. Some of the entrees were wrong, 1 kid and 1 adult didn't get any food or drinks until 9 o'clock. If not after 9, they close at 9. Crazy. If our party wasn't so large, we would have just left. There were stray cats roaming the patio area. Eating off of food that was left on the table for hours. A few of our guest, were bitten by something on the fake patiograss, it was either ants or fleas. It was too dark to tell and none of the table lights worked. When we decide we had waited long enough for the missing food we asked for the check. We asked her to remove the 2 meals and drinks that were not delivered to the table and to split the check in a couple different ways. We waited patiently in the patio area, for her to bring us our checks. It took so long that we eventually went into the establishment, thinking that it might be easier for her to just let us pay at the front desk. But we were unable to do that. So we waited some more. The waitress was struggling to fix the bill and calculate each check separately. AGAIN, nobody stepped in to help her. I will not put all the blame on the waitress. Her team let her down. Her manager never stepped in to help her. Not once. Nor did she come to us and acknowledge our displeasure in the service that we were given. She watched from a distance as the waitress struggled. I honestly don't think she liked that waitress. No decent manager, will stand by and let an employee struggle that long without stepping in to help. That manager didn't care. So yes, I don't think she liked that waitress. Management should be fired....
