So my husband and I went here tonight and the food looks pretty! I have been here on my birthday for the past two years for alone time and enjoyed it. I took my husband with me for a date this time. This time the food tasted microwaved. I attempted to enjoy the braised beef pappardelle, as I have before, but it was only hot for about ten seconds and tasted like the veg was added in after the fact. The beef was dry and tough. Before, it had always been cooked wonderfully and tender. My husband had the burger and fries with no onion. It came with onion and took over 15 minutes to re make a burger with a kraft single for cheese on it. The first server we had, Laura Y was nice, but the other female who was assisting was somewhat rude. My husband had asked for more water after having his water empty for over 20 minutes. He asked the second server if it had been shift change and maybe he could get some more water. She said no, it was a team effort and Laura would be helping him with that. She had such an attitude too, like we shouldnt be asking. We only asked the second server about the water since it had been so long, and us, having been servers before, assumed it was a simple mistake during shift change. For $37 a braised beef pasta plate, I expected not to have leftovers served to me. Also, my husband got a side of “mushroom risotto”. It was mushy minute rice with Parmesan added in after being microwaved. They just chopped up one whole raw mushroom to add in after the fact. Not using Arborio rice at all. This should be a dish made from the heart not microwaved 🤷🏻♀️. Sorry. Guess I won’t be back. Thankfully, they did take off the pasta from the bill when I sent it back only after...
Read moreI really don't like to post poor reviews of places, but people should really know what they are getting themselves into. Some colleagues and I stayed in the Marriott that this restaurant is a part of, and while the staff was pleasant, the food was inconsistent.
We arrived on a late Monday night, around 9:00 p.m. While we found our own seats, it took the wait staff a good 5-7 minutes before coming over to greet us, provide silverware, etc. When it finally come down to ordering, we had 2 Ribeyes mid-rare, 1 NY Strip, medium, and a rack of lamb. We ordered a few cocktails, including some Old Fashions to go with the steaks.
My colleague with the strip was served an appropriately thick, maybe 3/4 to 1 inch thick steak, perfectly cooked to medium. My other colleague and I both had ribeyes that were very thin, maybe half an inch, and cooked to medium well/well. While the restaurant advertises at 16 oz ribeye, there was no way a steak that thin was 16 oz. It's not even that I would eat all 16oz, but I know how much is typically left over when a proper ribeye at 16oz comes out. For a $50 price point, this was a real disappointment.
My colleague and I ordered some sauces after dinner was delivered to try and mitigate the lack of flavor and overdone nature of the meat, but the damage was already done. For a steakhouse, cocktails like old fashions need to be made properly, served with a large rock rather than a bunch of smaller ice chunks that melt way too fast and dilute the drink. Even the waiter when taking our order mentioned that the menu needed some updating.
The next night we came in for some quick nightcaps and the staff were great...
Read moreSo, underwhelming. Arriving, there was no one or no sign to seat you or direct you to seat yourself. We sat for about 5-7 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. The only highlight was that are drinks were served quickly. We ordered two wedge salads and one "heritage burger" to split. We waited. We waited. We waited some more. Then...we waited, again. The server brought our burger. Upon setting the burger down, he asked, "You didn't get your salad yet, did you?" Seriously. My wife and I began to nibble on the fries, not wanted to eat the burger before our salads arrived. We ended up finishing our fries...still waiting for salads. The server finally showed up, with one salad on one plate. The wedge salad was not any better than just "ok." They must have ran out of dressing a bacon. The burger was decent, but to be honest, I had a better burger in the airport at a fast food restaurant earlier in the day. We are staying in the hotel for the next few days but we will be...
